Hi

Just wondering what folks do.  Seems whatever I want to mount on my frame doesn';t match the mounting holes I have available!

eg mounting HH2.1HC on my 450 frame the available holes are at 45degrees when in X orientation.  On the 250 frame the available holes don';t have the right spacing.

What does everyone do?  Drill new holes in the required places or some other way of creating mounting adapters?

Cheers

stand-offs drilled into new holes or double sided tape for me. To be honest the tape works best but the OCD in me hates it.

Thanks.

Double sided tape sounds a little too temporary for my liking...and potentially messy too!

Have considered drilling holes but again the thought of drilling into a nice pristine baseplate.....

Cheers

There are some very powerful industrial quality double sided tape. I bought a roll from Aldi and would challenge anyone to peel it off.

I';ve also used that Aldi tape. Good stuff.

If you wanted to use the existing holes, the kk2.1 has a menu option to offset the board by 45 degrees. In the Stevies firmware , it';s under Misc. settings2 called ';board offset'; (surprisingly).

Don';t know if this option is available on the original firmware, if not, all the more reason to upgrade to Stevies

A tricopter is the only prime numbered multirotor (I need to change this signature since watching one of the latest videos from Flite Test but can't think of anything intelligent (smart arse) to change it to right now).

I have drilled new holes and used tape, just whichever suits best.

I can vouch for the tape, I used mammoth tape, and it sure sticks well. Only concern generally is that it';s better to be sticking 2 flat(ish) surfaces together or you may have an OCD overdose trimming bits of sticky tape with scissors and blades

There are also star shaped mounting plates that have holes so  you can mount the FC at 90 degrees to the direction of flight even if the holes are at 45 degrees.

good double sided sticky pads or tape are fine. i got the "removable" type from aldi. s&^t to a blanket stuff!
440 Y6 with vector, F330 quad with naza, hammer 240 with flip32, and watch this space.

I had a reel of that double sided glazing tape, 5mm thick, it sticks really well and provides some dampening for the FC. Works a treat!

If it';s the grey stuff be careful, it doesn';t seem that sticky but once it bonds it stays put. I stuck a wood frame quad ';temporarily together with it and when I wanted to take it apart to rejig a few things I ended up breaking parts to get it apart ::)

They grey stuff is rather persistent
