Watt meters

So I have an RC watt meter I have not used from my RC electric car days
I am planning on using it when I get back home to test the amp draw on my motors to check my Vector OSD is showing correct draw.
So anyone else use these to test motor draw
Used regularly it can tell you when your motor is starting to wear as the amp draw will drop as the motor efficiency drops.

Hi,
I';m assuming that you used your watt meter on brushed motors been an ex car fan.
Efficiency did drop on them as the brushes and pick up ring wear out. Also dust from the brushes can contaminate the bearings and heat generated in the motor can temper the springs and affect the pressure of the brushes on the commutator.
Brushless motors are a different kettle of fish as the only parts that can wear out  are the bearings. So efficiency generally doesn';t drop in the same way as a brushed motor. If a bearing is going to fail you will nearly always hear it.
