I am about to push the button on a DJi S900 bundle


The deals are just too good to pass up, especially as I need a backup frame for my AP business.


I would like to get the S900 under 7kg but not sure if thats possible.. have a read a few threads suggesting it might be possible with smaller lipos and reduced flight times..


My config would be, S900, A2, iOSD, Immersion 5.8VTX, Zenmuse for GH4.. 


Anyone else looking at getting one ?.. if so where is the best place to buy.. I noticed the prices were all pretty much the same from all the DJI dealers.. (usual), but most were reporting no stock on the Zenmuse for GH4 .


Does anyone have real world weights yet ?

Buzzflyer have all in stock, even the zen muse for gh4. At really good prices!

Hey mate,

The S900 airframe weighs 3434g.

The published Zenmuse weights don';t include the GCU and wiring, so add another 100g.

Hmmm, only with a small lipo. Theres probably only going to be around 1100g left for the lipo once everythings installed.

I think its being investigated due to some recent fly aways and crashes. couldnt find anything on the news, but i would not want one.

No.. and tbh .. seems to be only reported on one forum the issues, and mostly UK.... and no scientific investigation yet.. so crashes may or may not have been the cause of the A2... as you know in the multi world.. crashes can be caused by many things..




I have had a fair few flights and hours on it now.. with no issues..   there does seem an issue with some peoples GPS pucks.. but havent heard of anyone get one replaced yet to see if that was a problem..

I';m just about to order my S900 along with a Wookong but was also hoping to keep it under 7kg. I';m thinking best bet would be a lighter gimbal to the zenmuse? I intend on flying with 15000mah lipos and don';t really want to compromise there so the lighter gimbal may be my best or only option. I';ll only be carrying the a6000 with a 19mm lens on but I also want to mount the DJI data link too. Some careful calculations need to be made before I go any further.

Price wise I';ve not seen much difference between the various sellers Craig so can';t help you there I';m afraid.

You wont get the S900 under 7kg with 15000mah lipos, I am currently flying a CarbonCore Hex with Zenmuse and A6000.. it scrapes under 7kg with 10,000mah and its far lighter than an S900.

Yeah their prices do seem to be pretty rigid, at least in the UK anyway. Can';t say I';ve looked at international sellers but then again not sure I';d want to buy something like that from a global seller.

Smaller lipos it is then. Not totally happy with that as I was hoping for flight times of at least 10 minutes plus but if it can';t be done. Thanks for the info.

I was just thinking of a way to try keep the S900 under the 7kg mark and I';m thinking why not use a lighter gimbal?  The BLG3SN from DYS gets good reviews and yet it';s far cheaper and much much lighter than the Zenmuse offering. The a6000 should sit well on the DYS 3 axis seeing as it was intended to be used with the Sony Nex range. Just a thought.

It may be a little while since someone';s posted in here but rather than staring a new thread thought i#d try here 1st.
I know the 900 is quite a bit cheaper than the 800 Evo but what are the real advantages, I';ve seen the 7kg questioned and I though the 800 would be under that limit with a GH3/4 and Zenmuse gimbal (I could well be wrong on that) but if that is so why would anyone get one of these as opposed to a S800 Evo apart from cost???

Not sure what batteries you are running but looking at Ace gens battery weight figures for 90000mAh 22.2V 25C 6S1P, they appear to be lighter then the 8000mah at 1130g compared with the 9000mah 1194g. Now i am running a S900 with GH4 gimbal with pilot FPV and GH4 FPV and it comes in at 6970g! you can get nearly 10mins flight time.
