These props look like the rctimer ones which i use. Only you are selling individual pairs. I did the maths - yours are actually very slightly cheaper so nice one!

Assuming they are the same as the RCtimer props I use - they are good props, very strong, you really don';t want to catch your fingers in them.

The only thing i will say is that unlike the HQ props they need a little balancing to get the best results. I';ve heard so many people try to use them without balancing then complain they are rubbish. They aren';t after you balance them.

I';d love to get some 6 inch carbon fibre props but i haven';t heard of anyone doing them except in those strange bolt on shapes that don';t fit a lot of motors.

The only thing i will say is that unlike the HQ props they need a little balancing to get the best results. I';ve heard so many people try to use them without balancing then complain they are rubbish. They aren';t after you balance them.

I am currently using my first set of 5x3 RC Timer CF props on my hospitalised Hammer mini H quad.  I found them out of balance from the start and spent probably about 10 minutes on each, sanding them down to get a decent balance at the blades. I didn';t bother with the hubs, too tiny.

Its pointless people complaining about props without balancing them first. What do they expect? Unless the props are sold as balanced or are known to be factory balanced then it is totally essential to check the balance and correct if necessary.

With my first set of RCT props three of the four were out of balance. Curiously, one was in perfect balance!

I';ve ordered several of these Emax from Phil to see how I get on with those.  Having migrated to CF props now I don';t think I want to go back to anything else.  Which is nuts really, as I have a small stockholding of HQ 5x3 CR props now

What is the OOTB balance like mate?

Dunno yet - will get my LEGO balancer out after work. They';re pretty stiff, which has GOT to be a step up from my plastic HK ones :)

... and the sun has come out! Sweet.

My set of Emax 5030 props turned up today  ~~

They look very nice - and will need some minor balancing to get the blades just right.  They';re not out by much, so I';m guessing five minutes with the wet and dry paper should do the trick.

Compared to my RCTimer 5030 the Emax props feel thinner and are more flexible in the blades. I think they';ll slice "things" a lot finer than the RCT props will ::)  Best keep fingers well away when the motors are operational. :o

@philtrum - Question/observation for you mate.  These props have 5mm holes which will fit Emax motors just fine.  However, I also have a set of DYS BE1806 motors which have prop adapters with a diameter of 4mm.  There are no adapters with the Emax props.

I';m not dead out of the water, however.  My RCTimer 5030 props come with spacer tubes to reduce the mount hole from 5mm to 4mm and it works a treat with both the RCTimer and Emax props.  So I can use these interchangeably.

But longer term I think that I, at least, will need a source of these adapters or I may have to stick wtih RCTimer, at least for the 250 Pro that has these DYS motors.

Is there a ready source of such adapters, or any suggestion of a suitable substitute?

Interesting to hear that the emax 5030 full carbon props are noticeably difference to the RCtimers. I am going to have to get some to try myself now

I just assumed they';d be from the same mold as the RCtimers but obviously not. Any chance of a close up photo of one of each, side by side?

If emax can get the 6 inch props working like the 5 inch props i bet they';d sell loads. Lots of people with slightly overweight 250 sized quads are moving up to 6 inch props now.

My suggestion regarding the tubes for the props - email RCtimer and ask if they have any they can list separately or just send you for a few quid. I';d be surprised if they can';t help.

Here are a few pics of the props.  The Emax are ever so slightly thinner, have more flex, not in a bad way. Its quite subtle.

First the Emax props in both profiles

Here are the Emax and RCTimer (lower item) together

I balanced these up today with my new balancing tool and three were a tiny bit out, just needed a tickle with wet&dry, one was spot on.
Mounted them up and used my existing plastic spacers. Runs quiet and smooth at idle and in the air like a bloomin'; dream!

NO lurching, no silly antics. These are a little smaller than my previous plastic ones and so are that bit more responsive, so I';m gonna have to tweak my PIDs (knew I';d have to) - it';s wobbling a little, which simply means knocking the P down a touch.

Only had a little hover about, so will tune and take it to the field at the weekend to fly in anger (or the best I can).

Got a VERY good feeling about these props - cheers philtrum, these are nice props, and with the super-fast delivery and excellent aftercare I';m gonna be getting my props from you in the future :)

It';s normal to have to knock your P down a few settings when moving from plastic to carbon props.

This is because the plastic props bend a lot more under load in the air which produces a kind of hardware based dampening system that makes your P count for less.

Whereas carbon props are so stiff that you have a more direct connection between the motors / ESC / flight controller and the air itself. So a given P setting has more of an effect.

I';d be in the market for 5" T style. Finding that 6" is an unlikely fit for two of my three 250s

5 and 6 inch T style props would be great for some of the high end mini motors and quads.

I';ve found that the new DYS and RCX "1806" motors are coming with a choice of prop shaft or T mount. Interchangeable in the field with a hex driver if need be.  Thinking I might trust T mount more than CW/CCW prop shafts that can be a pain to source also.

Would be looking for something around 11x5 or 12x4 to start with.
