Emax motor question please

I have emax mt1806 on my fpv250
They have self tightening nuts.

The silver dome nut is the CW motor but the nut tightens to the right?

Surely it should tighten to CCW?

Same with the CCW motor. Tightens to the left (CCW)

Strange? Will the nuts fly off?

Thanks

Perhaps they';re indicated from the motor up, so clockwise is indicating that the motor turns clockwise when looking up at the prop. As such, you';re perhaps using them the wrong way round and should swap them about?

I suspect this will be the case because if you had the motors on the front of a plane and were talking about CW vs. CCW, this would make sense.

Looking at the back at the quad top left us CW. I guess I have them on wrong lol.

Thanks mate

I did that on mine. When I crashed upside down all the nuts undone and fell off. Leaving me crawling around looking for them

It took me some time to work it out took, I ended up putting a spring washer under my prop nuts and a drop of blue lactate tone extra safe.

I thought CCW CW was the way the motor spun. It';s the thread.

Learn something new everything day lol

easy way to check:

  • put nut onto thread but just so it';s on and not tightened
  • then just rotate the motor in the direction it';s going to turn but also hold the nut so it can';t turn with the motor
  • if the nut comes off, the motor will need to spin the other direction
  • if it tightens, it';s correct
