The wait was worth it :)  The newest member of my photography business ... a Peter King Tarot 680pro.

A few tweaks still to do - the camera HDMI controller and trigger did not work so have ordered a new board made for the Sony A6000 - a week or so till that arrives. No chance to fly yet - windy and raining :(

Hoping for 15mins or so from 2 x 4c 5000mAh LiPos.

HP4108 - 720Kv';s with 12" CF props
30A OPTO ESCs
APM 2.6
Telemetry module
CF gimbal for Sony A6000 ; combined weight under 1Kg
Neo 6H GPS unit - slightly better accuracy (apparently)

Yes it does, Shame about the ESC';s poking out of the ends.

He used to fit them in the arms, but i assume he may have had some go wrong due to heat.
I was going to go that route, good job i didnt!

Cant wait to see some videos mate

Which shutter release option have you gone for with this please? I can see it in place but not enough to work out what it is.

Also the gimbal you have there looks pretty juicy too. Is it custom made or freely available please?

Cheers,

Andy.

The shutter release is not on it yet sadly. Peter';s options did not work so I have ordered a newly available FPV Micro HDMI to AV board for the A5000/6000; this should cope with both triggering video and photos as well as allow FPV (or via a monitor in my case).

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251594644460?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

As soon as I have it, I';ll let people know the outcome.

From memory, the gimbal is a FCMODEL two-axis carbon fiber unit (Peter might correct me here).   Very light and, with the camera plate supported both ends, is quite rigid. The motors are a pair of RCTimer brushless 5010';s - should have plenty of poke to cope with the camera';s inertia.

However, the frame is only just big enough for the camera and there might be some issues with the door covering the HDMI socket - will wait and see.

Many thanks for the great reply mate, very much appreciated. That shutter release looks absolutely ideal. I';ll be keeping my eye on that one.

The gimbal I';ve found on goodluckbuy and seems to be a good price considering it ships with motors and controller.

I believe I';ve seen a 3 axis model too so will an eye out for that too.

Thanks again Buny.

Well, sadly, the ';copter is still not flying well.

Quite twitchy in anything over light breeze - Peter did adjust some PID settings but still not as good as my existing Phantom.

The camera trigger arrived but it makes the camera too wide for the gimbal - the camera flap will not allow it to be pushed towards the centre enough to balance. And I have really no idea how to fit it .... :(  One reason I wanted a RTF system - get me going and allow me to gradually work on the mechanics.

Peter is building so many systems these days, it takes a long while to get replies and maybe existing customers have to wait longer.

If I can';t get it fixed soon, I';ll just have to hand the whole thing back to him to sort. I badly need a functioning system soon.

Lovely machine but only got it into the air 5 times since buying.

Good looking machine. Have you had any issues with vibrations on the arms that fold? I';ve got a 680Pro with extended booms to 360mm each side, SS 580Kv and 14" props, seeing the arms that fold vibrate in wind a lot! Thanks, Redford

One of my next tasks - to turn on vibration monitoring. I have standard arms and 12" props so does seem fairly vibration free. Think it is an issue with the gimbal - not sure what yet. Until I can get the HDMI converter working I can';t do many tests.

That';s a bit of a worry as I am close to the end of my build (tomorrow is solder it up and button it all up day) and I have used the afro slim esc in the arms.  Anyone any real life experience of this set up?  Maybe Orfordness?  I think yours is a Peter King original?

I';m hoping it';s not down to overheating but rather the awkwardness of getting them in there and any future servicing requirements.

Really don';t want to rip it all apart and rebuild, but equally don';t want an esc failure, particularly in flight.

orfordness

Mine are in the arms as per your plans, I';ve checked with Peter and its mostly to do with access, he';s had a couple in all the builds fail but not all the ones installed in arms (which leads me to believe its not a heat issue)

Thanks for the info.  Interestingly I had one esc that was bad straight out the pack. It was purely because they were going in the arms that I did all my initial motor set up off the frame which meant I found it early in the build and was able to replace.  Hopefully that will be that and there isn';t a bad batch of these going around.

Cheers

Quick update in case anyone interested :)

Drove the 100 odd miles to drop it back to Pete for fixing and to try getting the A6000 working. Went back 3 days later but no progress - think he was trying to wrap up other work before moving house so poor ';copter not fixed. Now leaving it with him for 2 weeks while I am away in the hopes it will all be sorted on return.

If anyone else has the parts list for HDMI converter / shutter control plus settings for the A6000, I';d be really grateful :)

dockman

I use a seperate hdmi converter and shutter controller with my A6000 with no issues.  Just food for thought if you cant get yours working.
I fly stuff

What batteries are you using on this? (C Rating)

bunyarra

Paulham

Yes it is 4 cell (4S = 4 cells in Series) but they also have a C rating on them. The lowest they do now is 10c but I think it can go up to around 100c. It should be printed on the sticker
