Zenmuse Z15 not working.

I have a zenmuse z 15 and i use a spectrum DX6I to control it, or at least that was the aim of it . I am using the AR6210 receiver which came with it. I have linked it to the zenmuse app and updated it and the bars on the app move with the motion of the joysticks on the control box . I have also attached a servo to the receiver to check there is power to it, which works fine, and yet the gimble does not move when i move the joysticks. The shutter switch works from the control box but there is no movement apart from when it first starts up when i plug in the main battery. Any ideas ???

Just to clarify..  sliders move in Zenmuse app for all channels

You have a switch configured for gimbal reset and one for mode ?

Gimbal initialises ?

Gimbal moves and levels when you move frame ?

If you haven';t got the mode switch and reset switches  configured properly it wont allow movement from joysticks.. ie: could be stuck in FPV reset etc

Agreed, sounds like it';s in reset mode to me.

Sliders move in zenmuse app for pan,tile and roll.

i am using the futaba 14SG for the H. free, FPV and H. trace switch. which moves the sliders on the app as it should.

Gimbal initialises when switched on but it very slowly on its own to the left until it gets to a certain point and then it starts to shake until i unplug the power. when i plug it back in it resets and does it again.

Gimbal does move when i move the frame.

I had the very same problem! All sliders worked fine in the zen software but the only thing that actually worked on the z15 was shutter control, it also paned slowly to the right, We tried everything! It turned out it wouldn';t work with my A2 so we tried it on a friends wkm and it worked absolutely fine.

What flight controller are you using?

Just to clarify. Im not using the A2 flight controller to control the gimbal. Im using a AR6210 receiver that came with the Spektrum DX6I. The only lead coming from the A2 controller is for the H.Free, FPV, and H.trace switch, which works as it should. Im using the futaba 14SG for that switch.

I use mine on A2..but dont have channels mapped through A2.. they go direct from RX PWM.. single cables.. connection to A2 is SBUS though.

Sorry if this sounds a stupid question but what does PWM stand for. If you can would you post a diagram of how you are connecting that setup together to give me an idea. I have a sneaky feeling that the gimbal has something wrong with it as the shutter works, the mode switch works yet no movement with the joysticks???.

I had exactly the same set up but to control the z15 I had dx8 and ar800 rx I';m talking about the can hub I plugged it in to the compass on the A2  (can hub 1) there was nothing but when I plugged into can bus of my friends wkm everything worked fine.

I don';t think there is anything wrong with the zenmuse I just think there is a few earlier models that ain';t compatible with the A2 I also had shutter control.

Cannot believe it  :bang head: :bang head: :bang head:The penny has just dropped!!. Thankyou Allen Williams. Soon as i read your post  about the can bus i realised. I needed to connect a can bus from the GCU to the A2 GPS can bus. Its now working spot on. Thankyou for your help guys. .
Jumpy07. Ive noticed you have a BNUC-S with PFAW. Ive just passed my ground theory. Do you have any tips on the operations manual?.

Ops manual is not rocket science.. see some of the links I have posted in the BNUC section..  have a lock at some of the full sized aircraft ones I have linked.. you will get the idea..


If you get stuck ask.. lots of BNUC pilots on here..

Out of interest. Who did you do your course with ?. I did mine with Euro USC.
