Somehow I have managed to get my wiring mixed up and seem to have fried my mobius. I';m so annoyed

I had the power and video wires mixed up, and had 12v run straight into the video out.

Any idea if its salvageable?

Britishguy

try opening it and see what has blown

Biffa

You were running 12v direct to the Mobius?

No, had a cable which had a step down regulator from 12v to 5v. this was heatshrinked up

In the past i had changed 2 wires around on a different cable and i assumed it was the norm, pluged it together and thats the end of that!

Best way is to open it up and check for smell/sight of smoke.

On a diff note, which mobius lens do you have? Normal or wide? Mate of mine wants a spare wide angle lens for his mobius and might pay for your duff one.

Standard! LOL!

Just had a look, no deformities on any component. nothing gets hot when external power is applied either.

Im thinking that i will buy another mobius for my quad, then i might get a new circuit board for £26 from bangood.

Does anyone think there is a high chance the lens/cmos was damaged in the process?
