Motor overload / stall protection

Read a few threads where people have had their motors burn out when stalled. Just a bit surprised about this.

I';d have thought the ESC would have some sort of overload protection / stall detection in it. I assume they are using SimonK or BLHeli FW.

It';s just that I';m using WiiEsc I think  and that nicely shuts down the motors when I crash into the long grass.
