Does Simon K perform the same on all ESC's

All my builds to date have used TBS 30A ESC';s with Simon K until I built the Reptile this weekend which has RCtimer opto 30A simon K.

I';m sure the new reptile flies smoother than any build to date and the only change is the ESC';s as all the other parts are carry over from other builds.

I ad always assumes that all Simon K ESC';s would perform the same but now i';m wondering if that is the case or not.

Anyone else had experience with this ?

SimonK can vary from ESC to ESC..  the way the firmware is implemented can be different..

Also some ESC';s have external timers.. these are better for holding timing in different temperatures / and or voltages..

Are yours with 16mhz crystals? I';ve got some for my upcoming rebuild and have heard good feedback from one or two people, looking for more/confirmations. It';s said they should be more efficient power-wise too.

Not all ESCs are equal. It';s quite possible that the latest OPTO ESCs from rctimer (if you mean the new ones with all N-FET MOSFETs) are better than the old TBS ESCs.

Also they update the simonK firmware periodically and it';s still improving. So unless you were updating your old TBS ESC you might notice a difference because of this.

Not sure of the exact spec but these are these are what I';ve put on the Reptile  http://www.rctimer.com/product_876.html

I';ve just order 6 more the the Y6 rebuild.
