Hi Deano,

Yes, you';ve got the alexmos board which requires the BGC software to configure and tune. The first thing you need to do is make sure your board is running the latest firmware. I would recommend that you disconnect the motors before doing any of this. You then need to make sure the IMU us mounted on the plate underneath the camera and also make sure it is orientated properly. There are 12 possible IMU combinations and you need to make sure your XYZ orientation matches what is defined within the BGC software. You will normally notice a Y> and X> on the IMU circuit board.

Once you have all the hardware setup properly, reset your BGC to default settings and reduce your power to 50. Then slowly increase (steps of 10) until the camera stays relatively steady and that there is enough power in the motors to keep the gimal sort of stationary. It might judder a little at this point. Then adjust the P value until the judders get less and less, if they get worst you will need to go the opposite way. Leave the I on around 0.1 for the initial setup. You must also remember that you need to get the correct poles and polarity setup on the BGC software and the auto feature doesnt always work out the correct settings. On my gimbals it comes back with a different figure almost every time.

Good luck. Stef

Might be stating that  obvious bit it also needs power.  I. E.  Not just from you plugging in the USb cable. .

Also that';s not an official Alexmos board.  So you are stuck with the cracked firmware they have put on it.  Should work OK,  but you';ll need to use the old matching GUI.  Start with 2.2 and it will tell you if there is a mismatch.

No, I don';t think anything is obvious when one is new to this stuff!  A good point.

Taken about 8 months so far and still not working on mine!

It took me about three months to get the result I was happy with.
Using desire rc board - probably the most expensive alexmos board.
Had to change three boards..
first one got bricked just from making adjustments in gui, second one got magic smoke on first power up from 3s battery plug and with the third one  I spent a lot of time (calibration, adjusting...) but it wasn';t working as it should until I changed the gyro sensor.
I guess I wasn';t lucky!

Just for reference I managed to get rctimer board loaded with alexmos and set up perfect working gimbal in literally couple of hours!

Thank for all the replies. I think I managed yo sort it. Before I had a chance to mount it on a quad I lost the gopro + quad in the sea. I get another gopro later this year the try it again
