As above, I already have a couple of people who are interested in having a go with it at this stage; I am in progress building the first prototype and am quite excited about it.
I would like to offer the design to any forum members who fancy having a go with it, the only thing I ask in return is feedback on the design.
I will provide stl files or model files/drawings and recommendations for the setup from my current research,  you will need to get the parts 3D printed and make the rest.
Looking forward to hearing from any of you who are genuinely interested!

Darrell,

I am genuinely interested.  Unfortunately I don';t have a 3D printer and wouldn';t know what to do with an stl file.  But, if you ever get to the stage where you';re able to sell prototype airframe kits do get in touch.  I';d be more than happy to provide feedback if the price is right.

Best of luck with the prototyping.  I hope you';ll find some early adopters.

Cheers,

Tim

Hi Darrell, this sounds very interesting, what is a Versacopter?

What sort of size is it and what type of motors/props is it for? do you have a link to more info?

Good luck with the tests

It is very much R & D at the moment but with what I';ve done so far it';s possible to make/get made bit for a 450ish size multi configurable model.
I';m doing trials on the I Beam at the moment, currently the 100mm long one (for 450 size is made from 1/16" Birch ply but I';ve got a little issue with torsional strength to resolve - it';s an easy one to resolve but I want to keep it as light as possible to give best flight times or performance - whichever you want most.
I';m using an Emax 4 in one 25A esc and Sunnysky 2212 980kv motors with 9" or 10" props for the prototype with either a KK2 or Acronaze32 or maybe a Naze32 FC. I should have something workable to see what its weight is and how it flies in the next week or so - too much to do and not enough time to do it in!!!

First files have gone out tonight to interested parties - anyone else who is interested in making something different is welcome to the data.

Topic now closed due to failure of design - Unfortunately 3D printed components not suitable for purpose.
