But my transmitter doesn';t have an antenna - Futaba T8J.

Just a point Richard - the T8J does has a antenna, in fact it has two. They are inside the case. Each start near the ';A'; or ';D'; switch running at a slight angle towards the middle  just  near to but in front of the VR control ( I had my T8J apart when I first got it to remove the ratchet effect in the throttle.)

Don';t worry about the 2.4 ghz datalink element Rich, I have one on my hex & never had an issue.

Btw, the throttle should be set just above half way for failsafe.  I notice you don';t have failsafe as an option on the 3 pos switch, any reason?

The 3 position switch is for GPS or ATTI on mine. I wanted failsafe tucked away where I wouldn';t hit it by accident so use the 2 position switch (I think it is G).

As the licensing people want you to highlight your failsafe with red tape, I thought it made sense to just use an on/off switch rather than have other functions on the switch.

I hope that is the question you are asking anyway lol

Hi Rich,
Just something I read sometime ago. There was a bug prior to firmware 4.02 where if you flew beyond your chosen boundary limit (horizontal)
you would lose control, I think you still had vertical control. The craft would RTH/RTL if told and you would regain control once inside the boundary.
Apparently the bug has been fixed.

Just sayin';  ::)

Thanks Richard,

But as I mentioned earlier, it was only a few metres away and I have previously gone 400m. It was about 50m high.

I have no boundaries chosen (default about 8 miles I think lol) and am on latest firmware.

Always nice to have the info though. Cheers

Hi Rich,
It was just a thought as you had no other explanation.
I wonder if you';ve found a new bug!  :crossfingers: you haven';t!
