Here is another good deal. I have bought a lot from BYOD their service is first class.

That is the kit I bought. I agree, BOYD';s service is absolutely first class.

I picked up my F550 version from them today. £700 in total with two batteries and other bits n bobs (equivalent price to F450 was £499.99)

Remains to be seen if it ever actually flies

It';s worth remembering that the DX8 is essentially discontinued (local store can';t get them from Horizon) and the DX9 is the  replacement, been playing with a couple of dx9s this afternoon and they';re excellent.

Think of them as half a dx18 rather than a dx8+1 channel

I haven';t had any word from Horizon of the DX8 being discontinued and its in stock at Horizon but ill call them Monday. Wouldn';t be the first time the world knows before the dealers.

Considering it took over 7 weeks for horizon to supply a Blade Nano qx it may have been a supply problem, if it is discontinued then there should be some real bargains about :)

I have a DX7s which is a slightly cut down DX8 and its pretty good but the 9 is something else

Spoke to our Horizon rep and he says there';s no plans to discontinue the DX8. We have them in stock and so do Horizon so it must have just been rumours.

Whilst we';re on the subject of transmitters, anyone using a DX6i, if you';re wondering if it';s worth upgrading to a DX8, I would say definitely yes.  The feel of the thing is excellent, I couldn';t believe the difference in the gimbals for instance, so smooth in comparison, in fact there is no real comparison.
I haven';t tried the DX9 myself, but if it';s even better than the 8 ( i guess just having that extra channel to play with) may be worth the extra £100 if it';s a long term purchase?
Anybody who';s owned an 8 and 9 please feel free to jump in here..
