Manual tilt/pitch change on a Martinez?

Im wondering if anyone can help me? Im using a the board and brushless combination from RCtimer, i think its the Marinez board. What Id like to do is adjust the angle/pitch of the gopro so I can get a different shot rather than the straight forward one. Ive only got a 7 channel transceiver unit unfortunately and i cant afford to upgrade yet. Is it possible to use something to manually change the pitch out in the field if you know what I mean without using a laptop?
I';ve done a lot of looking around and the pitch is adjusted on A1 on the board? But how to adjust it?
Thanks very much for any help anyone can offer!

Thanks a lot Phil, ive got one here and have just plugged the power lead into the spare naza motor output and the tester output into the A1 on the Martinez but the gimbal doesnt do much, or if it does it just wigs out and points upwards.  Am I missing something?

You may need to fiddle with end points in the gui. Not at home so can';t give you my settings but it didn';t take too much tweaking.

great stuff, think i made the right decision in joining up here :)

right after a afternoon faffing around and a wasted trip to comic store guys model shop I think my servo controller is broken, the lights are just randomly cycling and its doing nothing to my attached servos, just ordered a couple, i might have a look at getting it connected to the computer and going through its current settings (this one was pre built and setup) again thanks and ill keep this updated, I cant be the only person who wants this ability?

There,s some pics of settings in the rctimer gimbal and how to get it working thread but you will have to read a few pages to find them, the settings have worked for quite a few people and are a good starting point  ~~

this is the thread http://www.multi-rotor.co.uk/index.php?topic=2291.msg26648;topicseen#new

oh theres a lot of reading there allright :) right so my servo testers arrived and yes my original one was indeed kaput so no wonder it was baffling me, connected one of the servo testers to A1 and result, I can alter the pitch down to about 45 or 35 degrees, however when the quad now moves about  the gimbal is rolling or is it called yawing away and is unuseable

ill get it all in later and download the latest firmware and get my head around it all, its a bit daunting at times  and guys, thanks for your patience

yeah, so ardunio wont talk to the swine, neither will xloader......  pain in the...... so much badly written conflicting information over so many forums :( only just found out what the builder used as firmware, and it still doesnt talk to it...

so ill update this here, theres a lot of people asking questions and Ill add my experience to the pile.  So both laptops i tested were windows vista, dual cores and approx 3 years old.  On one Arduino failed to run so couldnt upload firmware, tried using xloader and again it wouldnt talk to the RcTimer gimbal. Tried every gui available and none would talk properly to the gimbal it would only jib out a bit.  The other laptop would run arduino but would crash on upload giving the standard avrdude error in the dialogue box.  I tried changing and updating/rolling back all the drivers. Again as on the other laptop the gimbal would wig out but no gui would work on it at all.

Decided to buy a 2nd user dual core desktop running windows xp, installed the ftdi drivers first (version .24) arduino then installed perfectly and uploaded r49 v161 in approx 2 minutes, ran the gui and bingo im in and another click and im connected to the gimbal, note that the TC: reading values takes seconds, one thing I couldnt find on the net was how long it takes for the computer to talk to the gimbal and the answer is seconds, when I first had problems connecting and hanging I was walking away and leaving it for 5 minutes just to see if that made any difference :( no i know better

so atm i cant really make head nor tail of the settings (PID) etc but am battering at them, however the initial settings seem ok and joy of joy when i connect the servo tester it dilts downwards and im not getting any yaw :) they could probably do with being tweaked and this is something that I will be looking for some help with, going out shortly to make a test flight

many thanks and look forward to hearing from anyone who can help me along

yes m8, its been a great help, this is the best I could get it too, would anyone be able to cast their eyes over my video and tell me what I need to tweak to just get it right?

Just been watching your video again, very nice.  ~~
One comment I will make, because it';s something I suffer from, is the rate of yaw. I';m sure you can modify the yaw rate on the Tx by changing the rate or the curve to give a gentler rotation but I';ve not succeeded yet! :hmm:

Been digging through my Tx manual after my post. I know it applies specifically to the DX8 but it may work on other Tx. Haven';t tried it in the field yet, too wet but theory looks good. :hmm:
