Good morning,
I have an Avata 2 and need to clean the motors.
I have managed to get the circlip off the back of the motor but can not pull the motor bell off the magnets.
Is there a step that I am missing?
All help gratefully received.

I have usually managed to clean out motors as follows:-

1. Using mains water pressure or a water jet gun set to car clean level (low). Work motors by hand to help free up.

2. Dry thoroughly

3. Spray liberally with WD40 or similar silicone lubricant.

Dismantling is only a very last resort.  Those circlips are a devil to replace without loss.
Depending on the motor the magnetism might seem to prevent bell removal, can't speak for DJI motors.

Thank you for your reply.
I choose to take it somewhere to get their opinion.
They have told me it needs all four motors replaced.
I have gone through my insurance to have it repaired or replaced.

Been around quads since they appeared in the affordable mainstream, built loads myself, repaired and maintained all sorts of freestyle quads for over a decade. Fixed wing and Helicopters for over forty years.

Have had motors submerged, buried deep in slimy mud, tangled in wet long grass to a stall, etc, etc. Have had models trapped up trees for a month plus in the wet winter.  Not ONCE have I experienced more than one motor failing at a time, and even that is exceedingly rare. Most can be revived with minimal effort.

All four motors refusing to move is invariably the speed controller board if a common PCB.  FOUR motors needing replacing?  Sorry, but that is suspicious!  :hmm:

Leaves me wondering what on earth you did with the quad!  ;)  :D
