FPV Fiction

In my real life, I run a digital publishing and web company. We've just finished a rather nice paranormal book by one of our authors who also flies FPV - they actually used some FPV anxiety such as fear of video signal loss during a "farsight" sequence.
While I'm setting out the plot for the 5th book in the series the author wanted to do a quick book and wondered if there might be any interest in FPV based fiction.
It won't just be a book about flying, it'll have some kind of 'proper plot' but the main characters are all FPV pilots and in some way their FPV antics are closely bound with what goes on in the book.

The plot would have to have general appeal, given the rather niche nature of background, I'd need to find we call "Beta" or "ARC" readers who might be interested in getting a free Kindle copy to read and leave a review or ranking on Amazon. Anyone up for a bit of a read while their Lipos are charging or the weather's rainy?

(Doesn't matter if it doesn't sell much, production costs are super-low, and it's just for fun)

Sounds well worth a try on your writers part.

Drones (security/attack/defence/surveillance) usually around the "Infomancer" angle feature in quite a bit of Kindle based literature, inc paranormal and of course future space based story lines.

I use Kindle every day, since these days sleeping is not easy!

Be interesting to see if a more mainstream FPV use can be knitted into a tale.

Count me interested!  :D

Cool. I can forsee it showing a side of life that most don't see. If read by non FPV enthusiasts then I'd hope they might understand the recreational side not the sinister side of these funny buzzy things. FPV geeks can nod knowingly from time to time.
Have to have plenty of peril and action in it too.

As an aside: I was impressed to hear one American TV show almost get an FPV term right when their tactical drone was knocked down when infiltrating a baddie's house and the operator engaged "Turtle Protocol" to flip it :)

Will report back in a few days once I've spoken with the writer.
