 :cry

Hi All, I have acquired the Blade 350 qx to get into multirotors.
Got it working eventually excep for return home which cuts the motors.
I can't find the download update files to upgrade firmware.
Does anyone have a copy of the file to take to QX2 ?
Thanks

Feel obliged to comment on your choice! Brace Yourself!

From your minimal comment and user name I assume you are an experienced fixed wing flyer with Spektrum radio.

Spektrum/Horizon Hobby/Blade have always had a rather "at arms length" approach to multirotors, and the 350QX is no exception. (Neither is the very similar 200QX).

It'll work, but its control ability and systems are somewhat quirky, and over time have become quite separated from mainstream multirotor flying techniques and abilities.

They sit somewhat awkwardly somewhere between the fully autonomous Drones like DJI, Parrot, etc, and the mainstream Freestyle Multirotors, manufacturers too numerous to mention here.

With nearly all their product of the past five years Blade have teetered along the fine line between assistance and interference. The 350QX and 200QX are firmly in that unstable area, not very good as a camera ship, nor as a sports multirotor. There's no single product that does the two well and Blade could be called adventurous or foolhardy in equal measure to claim they have achieved the middle ground.

It does of course depend on what ultimately you would like to achieve, a camera ship able to hang around as a movable platform, or an aerobatic craft with abilities beyond a fixed wing aircraft and full on FPV capability.

As the saying goes, YMMV..............   ~~

Thanks for the info and the link to version 2 files. Still can't find version 3 which apparently had a GUI software option. I got this drone free and thought I'd use it to get a feel. Also have a Chroma with cgo3. What's a good starter as an aerobatic drone? I have a DJI flame 450 but it doesn't seem very aerobatic, but very stable.

Imagine the Flame 450 is a Transit Van, and that's what you get....and a few iterations ago model.   :D

Six months is a long time as far as multirotor technology.

You have not said what radio you have, was my guess right?

Spektrum is not well represented in the multirotor world. The numerous chinese makers tend to "pass" on even trying.

SO, recommending a freestyle quad might be akin to recommending a sports car model to someone who only has a moped license.......

The arch typical sports/freestyle multi has a 5" prop size, usually a true x shape, and runs the latest Betaflight firmware powered from a 4S or 6S 1400 - 1800 LiPo. Look up the GEPRC Mk5 or the iFlight Nazgul Evoque to get an idea.

The 3" to 3.5" prop size can usually get under the 250g weight limit and that makes flying locations easier by rule. One example is the EMax Babyhawk II.

Personally I would not spend any time over or money on the Blade products now, they are self limited and basically a blind alley. They WILL fly, but won't give much idea on the capability of modern multi's.

Try a Simulator like "Uncrashed" or "LiftOff" if you have a USB connector.

ok thanks again. Actually my radio is Radiomaster tx16s and Frsky x10s. I can connect to DSMX using multiprotocol.
I will research your suggestions.

"Radiomaster tx16s and Frsky x10s"

That would have saved me some writing!!!

Then you have NO problem as FrSky is widely supported. Often two choices, R-XSR has telemetry, XM+ does not.

With FPV the telemetry to Tx is largely not needed due OSD display in goggles/headset/screen.

However, the newer so called "long range" offerings like ELRS and Crossfire ARE better.  I'm slowly transitioning from FrSky on my quads to ELRS via modules, not because I'm exceeding spotter range, but because the link is by personal experience better, more robust and less latency.
