transmitter/receiver compatibility hell

Hi

I would describe myself as a jack of somethings and master of none. I learn what I need when needed and then promptly forget what I dont use regularly.

so I have a turnigy 9x modded to OpenTX-9x, version 2.2.0. I have move the antenna to the module bay at the back so at some point I can change that to a better one, options on which received with pleasure on that one.

Iv e sort of come up with a list of suspects but need your help as to am I right wrong or totally on the wrong planet

I thought the speedybee with Bt built in looked good so ordered one. not looking that it needs S bus.

What receiver can I use with that and the modded 9X that I have???

The FS-A8S has range issues so avoid that one.
The X6B can also have battery directly connected to do telemetry back to your tx.  Well it does on a FW updates i6 tx.
iA6C I have no idea about seems good that it has dual antennas but other than that No idea.

I have an x6b but I use it on iBus and it works well with my i6 tx. The only slight issue is that the holes are 2.5mm and wont fit directly on normal 3mm standoffs on a 35mm stack.

I am not sure the SpeedyBee needs SBus.
This is from a spec page I found: 'UART2 for Receiver   Built in inverter of RX2 for SBUS input through SBUS pad, RX2 pad used for PPM, DSM2, DSMX, IBUS'

Agree with ched. Other than pwm for each channel, single wire protocols are translated by the software, cf/bf supports a raft, you just need an appropriate uart (in face even then any uart will do app art from f4s which don’t have the ability to invert on the GPU
So for f3 and f7 you can use all the cf/bf protocols on any uart.
F4s will have a hardware inverter built into the board for a specific pad/uart, this is usuall6 labelled sbus but in fave they mean inverted sbus because that is what frsky use, however you can use any other exposed uart for any other (non-inverted) protocol (eg Ibus)
