Unify Nano dead?

Hi all,

I've just wired a tbs unify nano up but I'm getting no leds or video when the battery is plugged in.  I get 5v on the input pads but only about 1.5v on the 5v output pads.  I tested for continuity between all the pads before powering up but I'm worried I might have bridged to one of the components on the board because I saw a tiny tiny wisp of smoke when I plugged the bat in - I assumed it was flux burning off but now I think I might have killed the vtx.  Is there any way to test elsewhere on the board to confirm if I've killed it or not?  It was so fiddly to solder up... :banghead:

Does sound like it is fragged.
I would expect 5v in and out to be directly connected, possibly with some smoothing through capacitance,(so continuity between 5v in and 5v out and same voltage, possibly with some lag on power up) that sounds like you have something bust

Bu99er  :cry I think managed to solder up the rest of the quad is OK as it flew LOS fine, so perhaps I'll just get someone with a steadier hand to do the teeny tiny VTX   This hobby has an expensive learning curve!!

I use a TBS unify race edition, it's connected to the FC by a connector, only need to solder the cables at the FC end, even the pigtail for the antenna can be replaced.

I'd recommend this if size is not an issue, due to ease of installing it.
Why use 4 motors when you can use 6?

I suppose if the quad is really small it may be problem but otherwise agree, used race down to three inch without issue
Takes lipo voltage, provides 5v for cam

This is for a 2.5in rotorious crybaby (it's like a mini alien) because I'm trying to go as small and light as I can but think I found the limit of my soldering skill .  I've got a spedix gs25 4in1, a furious piko OSD in the stack and an r-xsr just behind so it would be tight but it might fit under the top plate if I put the battery strap all the way around the body (I want to top mount it). Do they do a version with a ufl connector so I could make use of the whip antenna that came with the nano?

I try :-)
