New VTX?

So I am replacing my FC as it's dying and OSD has never worked. So I will be able to change VTX settings via Betaflight for the first time  ::) Currently using eachines VTX03 which is OK but I don't have any experience of anything 'better'.

So which one to get?????
My thoughts are:
ImmersionRC Tramp HV V2 £30
TBS Unify Pro Race MMCX £26
TBS Unify Pro V3  £35
TBS Unify Pro V3 HV £45

Thinking of getting the Tramp as it has more power than the Unify Race and is cheaper than the Unify Pro V3. The Unify Pro V3 HV just seems too expensive compared to the Tramp?

Anyone have any thoughts on why 1 is better than the other?

Cheers for any advice.
I try :-)

Ok mate, first point: ufl vs mmcx.
The ufl connector is no where near as strong, that said, on a 5 inch I really don’t care as I will secure the pigtail or antenna further upstream. The only time I ever encounter issues with ufl is if I don’t secure the antenna or pigtail (nuts, why wouldn’t you, the antenna would wiggle about and move) or on small builds where I have used something like an axii ufl which has just poked out the top, in that latter case I have ripped 2 ufl connectors straight off the board.  So whilst mmcx is stronger, I don’t wan achuck out all my antenna and vtx and I don’t want a mix, so I gues what I am saying is take mmcx if it is convenient, but don’t stress if ufl is more convenient.

Tramp vs unify -it’s a personal thing, originally you had to buy a wand for the tram to use it, but you don’t need that nowerdays, Personnaly I prefer unify, I have unifys, unify hvs, and a lot of unify pro hv race.

I find I don’t really need the extra power over the pro hv race (note quick rule of thumb, you need to quadruple the power to double the range)
Much better to get a decent antenna imho.

Anyway I think you will find pilots prefer one or the other and swear their preferred one is much better than the other which is trash (in the interest of consistency, unify is much better, tramp is trash  ::) )

I do know my entire flight line uses unify, as does lamaule and Jakalas too I think

Must admit I have not had any issues with the little ufl on the vtx03 or my rx.
From what I have read Unify and Tramp have, as you say, both have their supporters.
The Unify Race MMCX does need a pigtail so that's £3 extra so it's not far off the Tramp and that does go a big higher in power....
From what I can find out there is not much to choose between them. Maybe a bit more reading.... ::)

Just to be clea4 mate..
Some vtx are naff, they give bad pictures
Most vtx are ok in that they give decent pictures
A few vtx are good in that they dive decent pictures and they don’t wander off freq, bleed into adjacent channels and just basically can be used with other pilots without major problems
Both the tramp and the unify are in the last class.

I have a TBS unify race and found the supplied ufl pigtail does not click into place firmly and comes off easily, i then bought a pack of ufl to sma pigtail off amazon uk, they are a bit longer so gives me better placement of my antenna and the ufl connector clicks onto the board much better
never had any issues with my tbs unity and tbs triumph combo, very clean video and good range at 25mW

i agree with Cheredanine, antennas and their placement makes a bigger difference than increasing the output power of your vtx

Quick trick or two for you mate- 1. A lot of people add liquid electrical tape or hot glue over the top of the ufl when connected.
2. I find a narrow strip of thick heat shrink over the ufl holds it really well

Cheers, need to invest in a hot glue gun, and more sizes of heat shrink, only have small diameter stuff for wires only atm
