10 Channels and don't know what to do with them!

I finally got round to upgrading my flysky I6 with the 10 chanel mod, mainly so I can have rssi indication on the OSD.

But now I have all these extra channels that I don't know what to do with.

Any ideas? What do you have the channels set for on your TX? What's useful?

For record I use:
Aux 1 (3 posn switch) - disarmed/armed/armed and airmode
Aux 2 (3 posn switch - this is habit, don’t use it) - angle mode/horizon mode/ rate mode
Aux 3 (momentary switch) - prearm

On my i6 I have 1sw as arm, 1sw as buzzer, 1as angle, horizon, and rate, the other sw is for turtle/flip mode. You do have to be careful on flip mode but it comes in handy some times  ::)

Depending on rx you can also have flight battery telemetry and alarms on tx.
I try :-)

Cheers

I only fly acro with airmode always enabled. So the flight mode is out.

Maybe the buzzer would be useful as the failsafe has changed since I updated. Used to just turn the radio off and the buzzer would kick in but that's stopped now  :hmm:

I know one switch is going for GPS rescue.

I did the whole 6-10 thing when I swapped out my old tx.....

and....

erm.....

Im still using the same amount of channels as my 6ch tx

tbh I dont have any use for that many channels, just wanted a new tx :whistling:

It's always handy to have angle mode available. If your FPV link ever cr4ps out you can flip it on to keep your quad roughley where it is while getting your goggles off and........... Erm........... Asking your spotter to point out where in the sky your quad is. If left in rates mode it could be half a mile away before you'd be in a position to try and regain orientation........ Or it could already be in the dirt.

I tend to use 3 set channels for standard stuff (Aux 1 as Arm, Aux 2 for buzzer, and Aux 4 for angle/rates mode) then add extras depending on what the multirotor's used for (ie, Anything with GPS gets setup to GPS loiter with the barometer enabled on one switch, and RTH on another), But I still usually end up adding some useless feature like being able to disable the OSD in the end because having 10 channels means you want to fill 10 channels, Right?

There's only been one of my multirotors that got me wishing I had more than 10 channels to play with, and that was my camera hex that was running iNav. That firmwares got so many cool options that I never wanted to be limited to just picking 5 (Lost one channel to the 2 axis gimbal). In it's Y6 rebuild I've fitted a 3 axis gimbal, So I'll have even fewer options to play with when I finally get around to finishing it........ Wish someone would hack the FS-i10 firmware like they did for the i6. I could just go for an extra 4 channels on that. :)
I need a pay rise........ Though I'd settle for a reduction in the amount of hours I need to work to get the same money.

I have my switches set for in flight PID tuning:

2 x 3 position switches on P I & D for both roll and pitch
Another 3 position switch as the channel for + or - on the value.

Forgot about that, might be easier than the OSD.  ~~

One for modes, one for Arm, one for Turtle although I've not used it. One for rates testing which I can remove now woo!

Weirdly when in the middle switch so profile 2, it wouldn't arm. Went straight to the higher rates, still think I need to go higher though.

Next project is making use of the telemetry and setting up Lua scripts for tuning / VTXing/ rating yadayada, not sure if that uses switches.

Still have to go into the OSD at the end and Save & reboot, but it's still nice to change the values up in the air
