Drone Landing Pad Lightning Deal - Bit of a bargain!

This may be a bit left field and won't be suitable for everyone, but for aerial photographers this could be a bit of a steal - £5.92 for the next 2 hours! It's in an Amazon lightning deal, and comes with free delivery for Prime members.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B071YV6XT3/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I just bought one yesterday and then today they decide to put the bl**dy price down.  Typical!     I'm really happy it though.  Double sided with a sturdy frame, and it comes with pegs and sand bags to keep it in place on soft and hard surfaces.  Should stop dirt and dust from blowing up onto the camera lens etc.  Bit of a bargain, I reckon.

By the way, I'm not affiliated with Amazon in any way other than being a standard customer!

That actually looks pretty handy - I mostly take off from my hand but this might be a better option (and less risky with frozen fingers).

Order another one and send the first one back?

1 minute left of the deal when I pulled the trigger  will be ideal for taking off from the beach with the Mavic, not keen on catching it when it's windy.

Thanks for heads up  :beer2:

I use the more conventional landing pad, its much larger and alot easier to land on, silly easy to locate even through your fpv cam and much more practical for when heading out into the field.

.... its called "the ground"

alternatively you can do a google search for...

"terra firma", "the planet earth", "the floor"

It's mostly aimed at aerial photographers who want to keep their camera lenses clean and free from dirt, debris and dust.  Landing pads are perfect for beaches and dry grass areas, and they can be handy when trying to land on rocky areas too.  Excellent for protecting the camera and gimbal from sharp edges.   ~~

I think if you message Amazon they will refund the difference!!!! Well they used to do that on products 'sold by amazon'. Worth at try?
I try :-)

Thanks mate. I tried but they told me they don't offer that service anymore. They actually said the same as Will. Buy a new one and return the is one for a refund. Somehow seems odd, them offering to be put more out of pocket after they pay the return postage.  :wack0

Look on fleabay for "collapsible reflector" under cameras and photography - loads of different sizes, and all fold neatly into a wee bag, easy to carry, lightweight and cheap as chips - for the anal amongst you, there is no "H" on them, but I'm sure you could paint/draw one on if you really think you need one :D

Will Slater

I have about six of those (I'm a photographer). I can confirm that this would likely work just as well.

That's what I use previously. They're pretty similar but the silver/white/gold/amber reflective coatings can be blinding in the summer months, and they don't come with fixing pegs, sand bags, or hooks to attach them. Otherwise they work OK.  ~~
