I had thought the same, but can you even get fire crackers in the UK anymore? I remember having to get them on school trips to france.

If you want a decent bang for your buck try agricultural suppliers for some crow scares, also known as slow burning ropes.
If they ask you what you want them for tell them they are for pigeon shooting to push them up to your end of the field.
I would on occasions tape one to a clay pigeon ,the look on the persons face as it exploded as they aimed at it was priceless. ::)

Just so happens I am in possession of a pack of French fire crackers ! My sons bought them earlier this year on our hols in France  they're like sticks of dynamite, we set one off in the garden strapped to a small action figures back,,,,,, BOOM !!! No wonder there not available in UK.
