Eachines EV100 goggles reduced

OK so I know these are not great goggles but they have been reduced to £77.87: https://goo.gl/H1PXZV and the DVR down to about £11 https://goo.gl/dQXsK4

I have taken the leap and ordered them as my Christmas pressy.
For under £90 I am not expecting miracles but hopefully they will be easier to carry than my Quanum V2 box goggles. I am hoping for a reasonable picture if a little narrow field of view.
Black are not in stock so it had to be white. Not ideal as the DVR is black but value for money I am hoping not to be dissapointed.

The distortion makes them unusable, however there is a fix and I'm just waiting for the capacitors to arrive

But other than that they are OK, not sure I could fly with them due to the poor FOV but I have been using Skyzone for the last 2 years, so could possibly get use to them if push came to shove.

Interesting about the capacitor, thanks for the link.
I know the field of view is small and I am used to box goggles! So any fatshark sized goggles will be very different for me.
I lost my flying location (sold caravan and had use of big field there) so I need smaller kit to be able to carry more easily.
Hopefully I can get used to the field of view, the big selling point for me is the diopter adjustment as I do normally wear glasses and it took me quite a bit to get the Quanum V2 to be in focus (the pro mod with extra lens and moving monitor back worked).

Also misses spotted an advert on my laptop for the Eachines EV100 and said ' what are they & #039; I said 'lets have a look' and she then said would they work instead of that  big box on your face?  I said yes and she said I thought those sort of goggles were £250. I explained thet they were not as good but for £77 they would be useable. They are now on their way as my Christmas pressy :)

I am sure they will be useable for me, I am not into racing more just trying to stay in the air while learning acro :)

I think at this price bracket they are going to a be hacked to death by the community which could make for some fun projects later on...

and the myopter adjustment actually works well, now considering getting prescription inserts for my Skyzones.

Just been reading the black bars/cap mod appears to be fixing in the second batch. So should be OK when they arrive :)
Also think I have found the hdmi to goggles cable which should be perfect for playing sim on tablet.

Just read the 165 page RCGroups thread!!!! Wow.....
Basically the first versions had foam that was too thick making it look like tunnel vision. Newer versions have thinner foam.
Seems like all versions need to have a capacitor added to stop an occasional flicker on high contrast changes.
Seems like they don';t do audio but I am not bothered by that.

Overall the goggles do get a good review based on price. Bear in mind that a lot of reviews are comparing them with FatSharks costing 2-5 times more.

I am looking forward to them arriving. I will let you know how I get on compared to my Quanum V2.

The price is very good ! It';s been a long time coming, goggles at an affordable price tag from any manufacturer. I';ve had the quanum boxes, and fatshark predators. Could never get on with the box type, but loved my fatsharks and wish I';d never sold them  but you live and learn.
The ';EV'; s'; are on my to buy list, and I think if they are in between the two I';ve already owned I';d be happy

Ordered the EV100 and the DVD very late (23:00) on 23rd Oct. The DVD arrived today!!! Wow, I did pay £1.68 for priority shipping as the goggles were priority shipping free.
So hopefully goggles should be here soon  ::)

What was wrong with them?
My dvr arrived yesterday so hopefully goggles here soon.

Replaced the capacitor and wasn';t getting any video, when investigating my workmanship the solder pad and track lift straight off the board. Not overly bothered as BG have sent out a replacement pair, but if the new set have the same issue I won';t be attempting the repair again So may not open them and go straight to selling them.

There are lots of people modding the ev100. Might have been worth putting them on ebay as might have been good for spares or someone with surface mount soldering kit.

I am sure you will be able to get your money back if you stick the unopened ones on ebay. People are so impatient you will probably make a few quid  ::)

I got the email today as well  ::)
I did look at them and the specs look very good but the removed the diopter adjustment 
I do like the hdmi in and  720p resolution but do they really need 2 diversity modules? Not seen that before.

We will have to see what the reviewers make of them.

My DVR and new face sponge is here but the goggles are not, even though ordered at same time. They do have a different tracking number format though. Have a feeling they will be delivered by DPD or some other courier. Just hope I don't get stung for import duty and vat...

Initial impressions:
Wow are they light. I am used to Quanum V2 Pro box goggles and these ev100 are amazingly light weight. The standard foam seems to cut out 100% of the external light. I can get a nice clear focus (I am short sighted about -3 prescription).
I have not tried proper rx picture yet or a av input as not had time yet (house move).
The EV100 DVR https://goo.gl/92bpVW arrived last week so now goggles are here I will have a play with this as well, soon as I get time.
I also bought the Fatshark Replacement Foam https://goo.gl/fsaaLW which looks a little thinner than the standard ev100 foam but again time constraints have not allowed me time to test.

Hopefully I will have a play tonight but trying to decide on new TV/Projector/Surround sound speakers etc ... ::) ::) ::) ::)

Just a quick update. Well since the goggles arrived early Nov I have not had time to fly. Been in the middle of renovation/house move. Well house is getting there and due to weather and me needing lots of practice I ordered a KingKong Tny7 which arrived on Thursday 

So finally got chance to have a fly with the Tiny7, my i6 tx and the ev100 goggles.
So I am used to my Qunaum V2 box goggles and their field of view. The EV100 are a much smaller image but colour is good and images are bright. It does look a little like the image is a bit far away but I don't think the image looks much further away than the screen in the quanum box goggles.
I love the ability to focus the images as I do wear glasses and the adjustments mean the image is perfectly in focus for me. The diopter adjustment is good for me too, I just tweeked it till I could see al of the image in both eyes.
I do like the fact that they are so light and small. Trying to fly my Tiny7 round the office it is so good to be able to pop the goggles on my forehead and go and right the Tiny7 so I can continue.
I am impressed with the ev100's for the money they are great. I have not tried any Fatsharks etc but I am very happy with the ev100's. DVR is good but they could have made it a bit better fit. i.e. it's little square box that connects to the battery via a dedicated connector so has to be close to battery but the av cable is a little too long. A DVR for £11 it is great, I can deal with too much cable and will velcro it onto the top of the goggles.

When I select the CN warehouse it allows the order. For some reason it is defaulting to the US warehouse and that wont ship to UK!
So just select CN warehouse and all good.

I noticed that too. Sometimes things with lipos in the box will ship others it wont!

I do hope they can resolve this soon as lipos seem to be increasing in price in UK shops plus the £6 DPD courier delivery.

Just to let people know BangGood have a special offer on the ev100 including the dvr   for £81.33 so about £5 less than buying separate.

The EV200d were meant to be out in a week or so,  but the date hasn't been confirmed.   Hopefully this reduction is them clearing stock ready for the new version.   I'm hanging fire to see the reviews,  as the FOV in the ev100s is just too small for me.

Problem for me is ev200d don't have diopter adjustments so not great for those of us that need glasses. OK so I know you can slot in diopters but they dont come in very many strengths unless you go to the expense of having prescription ones made.
I know my ev100 have a small field of view but you do get used to it, and I am coming from Quanum V2 box goggles with a Big display!!!
It will be interesting to see the EV200 reviews.

Yes,  that is the only pain.   The adjustable lens on the ev100 was the real selling point.   No one seems to be able to fit in a similar mechanism with a bigger FOV.
The diopters are -2, -4, -6, so hopefully close enough for most .   Plus the screen being virtually twice as big will mean it doesn't have to be quite as crisp to make out the detail.
Fingers crossed the reviews come back positive.
Aomway commanders v2 are also due quite soon, so I'm ordering myself some dirty cheap box goggles to tide me over
