Hello, everyone. Brand new to quads and first post here :) I have bought a NazamLite f450 quad with Spektrum DX6i TX and ar6210 RX. It was mostly dissembled and I have started to get it up together. The technical part was the easy one :) Watched a few and all done, but here I got stuck. So I have connected A, E, T and R from the Naza to the spektrum RX to the corresponding ports. I have connected the LED unit also to the Naza, no issues here. The only thing that has left is the U port from the Naza unit.  I have connected it to bind/data port and bind the remote. After that opening the Naza assistant and trying to calibrate the remote but the strange thing happens here. None of the switches on the Tx is working, cannot switch between flight modes. It';s in failsafe mode. Also, all the stick functions are working except the throttle one. It';s just stuck in low position and that';s all. Motors cannot be started also. I will appreciate some help for those question. Thank you in advance for your help.

If you have only connected AETR cables from rx (receiver) to FC (Flight Controller) then the switches cant work! You need to work out what channels the switches on your tx (transmitter) are on and connect the corresponding channel numbers up between rx and fc.
The switch for flight mode needs to go from rx channel that ideally has a 3 position switch on (GPS, Atti, Failsafe) to the U channel on the FC.
The bind port on the rx is just to set the rx to ';talk'; to your specific tx. You normally only need to bind once. As you have some channels working in Naza Assistant your rx is bound OK.
So check your rx to fc connections and get your 3 pos switch channel connected to U on the FC. Normally ch3 on rx is throttle.

Hope that helps?

Forgot to say only test with PROPS OFF!!!!!!
I try :-)

I had some what similar issues using my FS i6 and this helped a lot.

!) check your cabling from NAZA to RX
2) check your channel end points in your TX.
2a) check if reversing the channels helps, on your RX and see the outcome on your assistant at the same time.
2b) just recalibrate the Rx in the assistant, reverse all the channels and then get them back to normal, check if all the trims or sub trims are properly configured in your RX vs Assistant
3) reconfigure your channel end points for that throttle channel and see the results simultaneously in the Naza assistant.
4) in the Naza assistant hover your mouse over the RC settings in the Basic section and move it over the different setup and see if your cabling matches as shown there.
5) if nothing of this helps wait till someone on the forum who has a similar setup can guide you.

Props are off :) Thanks for the welcome. The Dx6i has only two position switches and I';m thinking is the U port supposed to go to the gear channel or into the AUX1? I have tried watching videos for that connection but nothing specific. In most of the videos once binded all the switches work and the flight modes are changing in the Naza assistant.

Looking at the ar6210 RX looks like  6ch receiver. I would say try U connected to GearCH then to Aux1 and see if it works in assistant. The channel layout does seem a bit weird to me on the ar6210 RX but that may be because I am used to FlySky stuff. Check that the throttle goes to the naza port for throttle etc... It is easy to get cables crossed.

Will try connecting the U port to the Gear channel or to the AUX1. Will do it once I get home. And will post the results here. Is there any CSC for the DX6i pre set? I have seen a few videos now that they have such commands. Also I have found this one over the net: https://www.gwynsoft.com/en/rc-helicopters/dji/spektrum-ar610-and-dx6-settings-for-naza-m and the thing that most got my attention is:

Whilst the AR610 does have preset failsafe, it only works on the throttle channel. This means that the Naza';s Flight Mode must be controlled by the AR610';s throttle channel. In turn this means that we need another channel to control the Naza';s throttle; for this we can use the pitch channel. Now we can use the gear channel on the AR610 to control the AX2 channel on the Naza. Clear as mud, right? Here';s a schematic showing the connections:

Tried all from the above and nothing. Still stays in failsafe mode and no switching. Can it be that Tx is faulty? I have bought it second hand or the Rx has some fault?

ched

I don';t know transmitter or rx but I assume the tx has more than 2 switches? If it does then somewhere in the tx menu you have to assign a specific switch to a channel number. Is that something you could look at?

If you have a servo to hand its worth checking the receiver outputs.

All set. Was a matter of more reading and finally got it. Was supposed to assign the channels to switches. Now I have Atti, GPS, Manual and failsafe. Going to try it now the yard near me. The servo thing was tried and they worked. Thank you all for the advises. Any advice for the first flight will be highly appreciated.  :beer2:

Take it slowly and make sure to get gps lock before taking off or your failsafe could make it fly away!!!! Be very gentle with the sticks. Place it a good few meters away from you so you have space to run if anything happens
Note it might not take off till you get to 50% throttle or a little over.

Have fun and be safe.
I try :-)

Well the fun was short :) Beers after were more fun :( So I have armed the motors and as said above i pushed gently the throttle up to 50% and still motors were idle. Ok pushed above and I think around 80 it started to lift from one of the sides. Pushed a little bit more and it just flipped and hitted the dirt with the props. I have tried few times more but nothing still the same and finally finished with two broken props :( Thinking that the motors at one side are not spinnig  at equal speed. Is there any way for checking this?

Bajadre

am sure it prob is matey but was the lipo charged? only reason I ask as the last time that happened to me was when I put a used lipo in instead of fresh one etc

OK HAVE YOUR CALIBRATED your RX -unit? (Green arrows in the assistant should be visible, if they are grey means its not at the central position)
[Naza assistant on your computer, go to basic then to RC (RX) calibration, do the sticks show central position and all the arrows are green except the throttle arrow. Recalibrate the RC and see if it helps].
Have you set the end points on your RX, it may help.
Have you sorted out the Gain/expo in your RX?

If you put a picture of your drone and a short video of what is happening when you try to fly it would help find a solution faster.

I had similar issues but now my drone is flying great, so don';t worry there are some great experts on this forum who will help you out.

Well to be honest the lipos were having a charge bit dont know if they were charged. Will discharge and charge them today and give it a go again once I find new props. For the Naza assistant arrows positions all of them are green and when putting the throttle one in middle its also green. For the end points of the and gains they are the default one in the Naza assistant. Advise for a cheap props for the learning period will also be good. I have only one new spare and looking for one more to make a video of what is doing. Also will 10x4.5 props work for this one? I have found them in a shop close to us but they dont have any 10x5. Will they manage to have a flew fligjts as they look quite cheapy?
