Hi can any one give me a step by step guide on how to connect

Flysky fs ia6b to Naza FC and esc to Naza FC

esc do the red wires need to be cut?

The wires between the naza and receiver - there are 3 colours which wires are facing up on the receiver and which wires are facing up on the Naza Fc.

apollo7

You dont need the red esc wires into the Naza as it gets its power from the PMU best let some one else tell you which wires to connect to the ai6 as i dont want to tell you wrong, but if you look on youtube you should find the answer
Volantex Ranger 1600/2000, Ranger 1200 G2, Phoenix S 1600 AR900 Miniskyhunter, ZOHD Dart 635 and a few 680 batwings plus old faithful C1 chaser and a lot of eagletree guardians

apollo7

Have you sorted this out yet, i would take a look on my 600 quad but its got a cover over the electrics and my servo wires are different colour to yours

Dippi

Nope. Still stuck. Please don';t open your drone. If you find a detailed wiring instruction with pictures showing the wiring structure that would be great. It doesn';t mater if the wire colors are different I just want to be sure which color wires are at bottom and which are on top. ( do the bottom wires on the receiver go on to the top pin in the Naza) the videos are mostly very confusing. Thanks

apollo7

I think the top row on the naza is signal wire, bottom row is negative, i think..........ai6 the wires would be white. red black, with white to the top so ai6 top row is signal middle row positive and bottom row negative, throttle channel goes to port 3 on ai6

GdLookinMingeR

Hiya
normally on flight controllers ground is down -Naza NOT

Signal the white wire goes into the naza facing down and the reciever white should goto the top
there is no need to cut any wires to the reciever.
In the assistant software you need to select traditional reciever.

Hope it Helps

Hi guys,
Sorry for not responding earlier, i actually did not get an intimation about your replies. Thanks a lot for your help, much appreciated. I did finally get everything working,
but can';t get it to fly as yet, when i throttle it up the drone just tilts, so i have tried not to force it and break something or just topple it, i think i need to change some settings, but have no clue as to what that could be. Much of the videos or stuff available online seems incomplete to a newbie like me , so every step is a struggle. Please if you have any more ideas please feel free to share them.

check and double check all the props are spinning in the right direction and make sure you have plugged the esc wires into the correct ports on the naza

Progress report:
Took the drone today to a technician who fixes ready to fly kits, he tried to help me out, (though he said he works more with APM and not DJI). Result drone was too twitchy and just kept flipping and crashing, some pid values were changed, no luck and then the frame arm broke. need to rebuild the drone with a new kit. Got a new s500 frame kit and will assemble it in the next couple of days, back to square 1. Confirmed, the FC is working ok, motor directions and positioning all ok, Rc working ok, some values in the Rc may need to be updated, and then back to making this drone fly. From all the info i had gathered, Naza was supposed to be the easiest to start flying out of the box, now that seems a distant dream.

If the a/c is flipping it usually indicates a wrong motor position, I.E.  correct rotation wrong position. Triple check, everything ,and don';t pay the "technician".. ~~

I am the biggest numpty when it comes to setting up flight controllers but Naza is just about plug and play, if i can build and fly multi`s with naza any one can, i still say its a motor plugged in the wrong port

You asked for pictures, this is my S550 hex that i am rebuilding with new Naza m lite, still a tiny bit to do but it flew superb with the old Naza v1 in it

* please note before working on any multirotor please REMOVE PROPS*
Can you just check the plugs on motor
layout match this please! its not just 1234 in clockwise rotation as i thought when i first started - we start somewhere :-)
also the props and motor directions  arrows displaying rotation
should match that layout aswell.
motor esc to motor output naza connection

Its so easy to get it wrong
Kind Regards

Thank you guys, for all the help.
Getting a bit disillusioned at this point.
Do you think there is something wrong in my construction it self or the combination of motors props and esc are mismatched, though i did my due diligence before i got them.
1. a2212 1000kv otro
2. 3oa xxd firmware esc
3. 10 inch propellers
4. new frame s500, old one which broke while testing yesterday was k450.

q1. should i try to get a smaller frame, i will have to order it online
q2. any suggestions what wires should i use to extend the thin wires from the motor to the esc as i plan to now install the esc in the frame and not the arms
q3. i was suggested that may be the 10 inch props were the problem

thank you.

cannot see any problems with the current configuration you has seems like a naza 450
usually keeping the esc on the arm allows the props to wash them with cool air
and cool esc are usually a good thing
10 inch props are fine as long as your using slow fly 10x4.5
higher pitches such as 10x 5 and 10 x 6 are a nightmare.
8 x 4.5 are nice and probably better suited to start then move up to 9 x 4.5
Question are the props you have on the motors fitting nicely and central?
whats happening when you attempt to take off can you video it ?
if so sometimes seeing whats happening helps us problem solve.
also last note with some simon k firmware and naza you have to turn the take off timing to high.
may help.
All the best

Prop are 8 inch now
rest is same.
i will email the video to you.

i am using a flysky fs i6

Leave all trims as standard. Only one I changed was for flight modes on i6 3 way switch. Something like 60% each way so flight modes switch between GPS, attitude, and rth.
As for expo I have none, naza is easy controllable, no high angle possible.
I try :-)

a small clip, to help understand the problem.

ched99uk can you explain in more details the settings on the assistant and the rx, if poss with pictures.

i have programmed my 5th channel to work with the 3 way switch c between gps, anti and manual mode the, switch a is for channel 6 it is for intelligent orientation off and return to home, and when the Rx is shut off it triggers failsafe. any ideas about the pitch yawn etc in the assistant settings, a detailed setting of the assistant and the rx will be much appreciated.
thanks

By the look of the video you have motors in wrong order. only one side is lifting, try re-calibrating level as well.

Try this--
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zN24Nh2z8DU

I would also check the props are correct the leading edge i.e. the front in the direction of rotation is highest.

checked rechecked.

RX TX BINDING
RX channels and calibration
Motors and propellers for x frame all ok
programmed switch c for gps anti and manual
programmed switch a for Off and return to home Intelligent orientation.

problems may be, overtime i plug in the battery the esc are doing the calibration dance, is that normal, by calibration i mean the make their odd beeps and then go scilient.

another issue is should the motors not power up additional force when they are tilting to correct the tilt?

hoverfly

When powered up the esc bleep this is confirming signal and battery cell count.
When armed if one side of the quad is lowered the motors should speed up to try to level the craft.

Watching the video you get a rapid red led blinking when applying take off power
this indicates the battery you are using has not enough power to take off.

Can you confirm the battery type voltage and capacity ?
is it fully charged ?
You can also disable LVC in the assistant software
If its set for 4s and you have a 3s battery it will shut off the power when you try to take off.
Think that might be the one  ::)

Dippi

its a 3s battery and fully charged.the red lights are as i am using manual mode, when i try to throttle it up it tilts and the motors are running all the time the battery fully charged is 12.6 v.i think its some settings on the rx, i have tried everything i can think of added the gains you provided same effect. what i have observed when i tilt the copter the lower angled motors should rotate faster to compensate but they don';t compensate fast enough. how can i fix that issue. whats your email can send you the pictures of the assistant and my rx.
thanks

GdLookinMingeR

The only thing I can think off would be that you haven';t
manually calibrated your esc.
done the calibration in naza assistant
and done the naza dance?

I  also noticed in the pictures none of your
rc channels are reversed
so are all the sliders in the assistant software travelling  in the correct direction?
I only ask as i had to reverse two of my channels?

All those things should be done before attempting to take off :-)

I still say something is not spinning right, a mistake i made was to plug no 1 esc into no 1 port naza but then went the wrong way round, so the other 3 were in the wrong ports

thank you all for the support.....specially Apollo and Jay, i guess putting high gain values helped the copter, it is flying now, cracked the legs due to hard landing, tried to take videos with the different stick inputs, but was a bit difficult to manage the drone and record.
