The 450/550 (actually 500 across the diag) Seeker is flying, the GPS works well enough (+-10m), and so now we load it down will the odds and ends.
First up is sonar.
I shovelled through my garage boxes and all I can find are 3 SR05';s. I thought I had some 04';s out there but couldn';t find them.
Now my question is -- what is the closest distance between the 2 cans on the ';04?
I thought the ';05 and ';04 were exactly the same size. But now I';d like to know if that';s right.
Reason -- you guessed it. Chinese airframe and the holes drilled in the deck for the sonar DO NOT FIT the ';05s that I have. The diam is OK, the position cut out for the pins is OK, but the main holes are too close together.
No probs to mount the whole board below the bottom deck, but I';d just like to know if the ';04 will fit.
I also noticed on the decks I have the diag holes to mount the little board are also off by around 2 mm too close for the ';05s.
Of course, I bought the ';05 boards from a small outfit in Thailand -- that might be the problem.
