Newbie to Quadcopters

Just thought I would say say Hi.....Looking at building a Robocat 250.  Have a list of parts I am going to order. As well as ordering the parts am going to order an Ares shadow for learning on. (AKA alien ) May as well learn on something cheap

Hey Denis,

I wouldn';t worry about spending that much on the Ares
I';d suggest the Eachine E010 to learn on ... and it can be converted in the future to a micro FPV quad later

Getting most from HK. Turnigy D2205 motors 2300kv,ZTW Spider Series 18A OPTO Multi-Rotor ESC 2~4S (BLHeli/SimonK Firmware). 5045 props to start with. Naze32 rev6 10dof controller. frame and PDB from Aliexpress or ebay, not decided yet ( whats the chances of paying no import vat  )running on 3s 2200mah batteries as I have a supply of those for other stuff.....Its just for fun.  Will also be getting FPV gear from Aliexpress but leaving it till later. Want to master it first.

Better to get blheli_s (spedix ones are cheap) or blheli if you must

Naze is too out of date, devs are struggling to keep software running on f1 flight controllers, look for an f3

Those spiders are BlHeli Esc';s but not -S.

lol I just read simonk/blheli, but depends on the boatloader, you want flash through/single wire to work

The ones I have are defo BlHeli had them some time and fitted them this week and flashed to latest Bl they would take.

More or less, putting together easy, didnt expect to need ext cables. Only problem getting cleanflight onto computer ( didnt read instructions ) and cleanflight doesnt like my TX, it doesnt do 1000 to 2000 range or support ppm. Didnt do my own soldering on the FC ( thanks Gary  ).
