What flight controller for aeroplanes

I am fine with quads, hexacopters and octocopters regarding flight controllers, however I am now considering fitting a flight controller to an aircraft and the only two I know a little about are Pixhawk and AMP.  The aircraft is a MQ 9 REAPER UAV SPY PLANE KIT.
Can someone offer some recommendations and advice please.
Many thanks - Adrian.

If you';re already familiar with ArduCopter then I';d suggest loading up ArduPilot into either a cheap APM 2.5 or Pixhawk - the latter if you think you';ll need the extra horsepower.  The last I looked ArduPilot is still in active dev/support (unlike ArduCopter).  That may not be the case now, however.  But it still is a strong autopilot.

The Eagletree Vector and Fiyengtech FY41AP are good FC';s for planes as they have an OSD built in, meaning less wires.

I have the FY41AP lite in my Falcon Evo wing, after a bit of setting up and ground testing it works great.

Why use 4 motors when you can use 6?
