The "Problem" with this is it is an "app".  Its not just an online map with extra information on it. 

It is there to harvest data and report back to HQ and this information could be worth money if sold.   So if it "takes off", so to speak, the app maker will have a real-time database of who is flying what where and when.  Great for the control freaks!

Imagine in the near future, you will need to synch your UAS to CentComm to get permission to fly it.  You will need to download any local restrictions, get your licence verified, verify that you are actually the pilot with bio-metrics, verify the UAS';s GPS is synched with your portable/wearable/implant';s GPS location data and only then will your UAS arm. 

Where it can fly will be then be ultimately controlled by CentComm and all air users will be able to see all this information in a little display.

Or maybe it';s just a solution to stop the post Christmas rush to fly your new toy over the nearest footy ground/airport/congested area, either wilfully or unwittingly. Depends how much you like your conspiracy theories and how organised you think the authorities actually are.

Having said all that I won';t be using it and it won';t be popular. There';s really no reason to share your email address and mobile number for registration. I suspect that';s so the company who run it can sell you more stuff.
