Sweden has banned the use of cameras on drones (silly idea imho). But here in the UK common sense and fun prevails. The CAA are promoting #400ftbritain competition to find the best drone photos (all under 400ft, 50m away from people and structures, of course!)

The 400ft thing doesn';t actually seem to be the max altitude you can go.

If you look at 4 part c you';ll see that it states 1000 ft AGL as long as it can still be seen from the ground.

I like the sound of that. What a great idea for a competition.

So why does the skeptic in me see it as a underhanded ploy by the caa to invite a cross section of drone users to submit photos that can be used to influence their future decisions about the safety and public use of uav';s!?   :hmm:

Powernumpty

I struggled with the cynic in me.

Maybe they want people to flag themselves as drone users and using image recognition software identify locations (if not required as part of submission) to create a 3D map of evidence of UAV flight paths.

With everything these days they probably want to build a database and mine information from it.
I';d love to think the UK are going to stand up for responsible and low risk users but we are the home of the daily mail so the jerks and their knees will want recognition.

I told you I was cynical!

Very dissapointing , found one of my best pics when uploaded it won';t let all of the image to be displayed, edited it just dosen';t work.
