A little advice RE Phantom 3 Standard transmitter.

Recently I have been thinking of upgrading my Phantom 3 Standard transmitter.

I';ve been watching quite a few youtube videos to find out if it';s worth paying for the argtek kit.

I did see a video where a chap just buys the arials from amazon and fits them to the transmitter directly. This seems like a good idea and would cost a third of the argtek price if not even less.

What I want to know is

1) what is the standard DB gain of the the builtin 2.4ghz wi-fi arials in the Phantom 3 Standard transmitter?
2) what is the db gain of the 5.8ghz arial?

The argtek uses 2 flat panels for the wi-fi making it a little directional, I was thinking that omni directional would be better for "out of sight" flying, but may not give as much range.

I';ve recenty tried a parabolic range booster and got a reasonable 1.5km (around 4900ft) but not sure if thats good or not on an otherwise untouched Phantom 3 standard. DJI state a CE version is capable of 500mtrs.

Any thoughts?

I would leave well alone and if you got 1.5k on standard that is very good, remember you are meant to fly LOS so anything over 450m is going to be impossible to see
Volantex Ranger 1600/2000, Ranger 1200 G2, Phoenix S 1600 AR900 Miniskyhunter, ZOHD Dart 635 and a few 680 batwings plus old faithful C1 chaser and a lot of eagletree guardians

Anything that improves the radio  link has to be good,  but as for extending range it is not needed, it will be useful for sites that have trees and structures impeding the signal.
Reptile folder , alien 500 , F/ Shark Attitudes,

Thats what I was intending really, I will be going to various places in the USA in December, quite a few cities.

Plus there are quite a few woody areas I would like to explorer here too.

When I managed 1.5km it was on a beach totally unobstructed.

I thought onmi directional antennas would be better than flat panel types for improved signals over range.
