LED strip and TX pin

I';m trying to get an LED strip working with my F3 clone. Nothing is happening and I';m wondering if my TX pin is actually doing anything. I';m feeding the 5v from my PDB. Is it possible to text the TX output with a multimeter?

I doubt you would see anything of use with a multimeter.

As the pin is supposed to be outputting a serial data stream you would really need a scope to see what is actually going on.

I would suggest connecting the LED strip to a arduino and testing the strip from there to see if the strip behaves.

Most of the addressable LEDs I have used initialise (the majority of) the LEDs to white before obeying any commands from the data connection.
Not much kit, but what I have I like

Hurray, LEDs! It';s easy when you wire up to the correct pins, I didn';t even need a resistor or anything.
