Spracing EVO brushed controller issue

I have just received a qx90 from Banggood and am feeling thick.

As delivered I could not connect to it with Cleanflight, Baseflight etc.
I jumpered the boot pads and flashed it to Betaflight with "Success" but the connection timed out once out of boot mode.
I did the same to Cleanflight, same sucess, same can';t connect (port open but times out with no configuration).

Even in Linux once out of boot mode it seems to be coming up as ACM0 which does not look right (shows as DFU mode).
I tried flashing it without the boot pads shorted and it programmed (cleanflight).

I';m going to knock it on the head for tonight (so not being rude if I don';t acknowledge reply) but ideas welcome.
I';ve tried manual baud rates, maybe my next stop is Dfuse (or whatever it is called).

Phone battery away to die ...

I do love those auto correct thingies. I have visions of your battery wandering off to some unknown place to spend it';s last few minutes before it dies. ::)

No worries that did help.
I just wish I hadn';t read the thread  as there was one guy with the same issue and he was jut ignored.
But from a link from a link from there I picked up some clues.

Looks like a USB serial issue as I took it to a Win10 machine and it installed the default usbser.sys driver and could connect.
Will have to see if I can zadig that on the Win8 box, it is not shown as an option so I probably need the fix some Zadig issues or manually force it (or the Win8 equivalent).

My one the FC failed after a few seconds of flight, now only the red led comes on and it won';t connect via USB anymore.

What is your status leds doing?

Powernumpty

Red light and flashing blue on activity.

I can connect to it from a Win10 box so I have the motivation to look at the driver issue in 8 now.

Have you tried the boot jumper and reflashing it?

I';d check the usb connector has not lifted a pin then connect it to a Linux box and do lsusb.

As you say it probably has failed but I might have missed the full details.
