Kill switch on APM power?

Hi all,

I am currently setting up a Flame-wheel F550 with an APM flight controller. One thing that has struck me coming form a 250 quad - there is one hell of a lot of prop here. I would love to have a kill switch on the top of this thing so I can disarm should the RX have an issue.

Now - I know a switch on the main power is generally regarded as a bad idea but I was wondering about a switch on the much lower ampage power to the flight controller. I figured if it';s landed and I want a fail-safe I can flick a switch to kill the controller and thereby stop the props.

So

Would this work?
Is this safe?
Any other thoughts or suggestions?

Everso.

You could put a switch in the power to the FC it would stop everything but it';s not something that is normally done.
If you really want to do it try it out first - make sure you buy a good quality switch, cheap ones could be a liability!!!
