I understand to help get rid of video jello one of the things I need to do is balance the prop

I have seen this balancer of ebay and just wondered if this is what I should buy:

I looked into prop balancers for quite a while before buying.  In the end it became pretty clear that the very best all-rounder was the DU-BRO Tru-Spin Prop Balancer.  It';s expensive, but it';s absolutely fantastic.  Its so well built, sturdy, and balances props quickly and easily.  For me it';s been worth every penny.

My best one is this one:

I think there is too much friction with the ones with the wheels like the DU-Bro one to balance small props.

Perhaps Du-Bro get round this by super-spiffy engineering...perhaps not, it should do at that price but still, I just think that moving those big wheels takes more force than an small prop fractionally out of balance can exert.
Nighthawk Pro, Trex 450 L Dominator 6 cell *FLOWN*, Blade 450-3D, MCPX-BL, MCPX-V2, Hubsan X4, Seagull Boomerang IC .40 trainer, HK Bixler, AXN Clouds fly,, Spektrum DX7, Taranis, AccuRC

I';ve got the du-bro it';s fine down to 3" props.... But who balances mini-quad props?

atomiclama

I balanced the props a few times, but after the first crash and they got covered in mud I thought what was the point. ::)

I do check some from a new batch of props to see how good/bad they are but that';s about it.

Think larger props are worth doing though.

QUite agree, the Dubro is great for bigger stuff but I';ve always used one like that and all has been good ~~

Don';t but the little carbon and alloy ones ....

The alloy knurled knobs are not balanced .... So you get your prop ';in balance'; then rotated it 180° it';s way off again

Looks like a blatant copy of the DU-BRO Tru Spin.  Hope it';s as well made and you';ve gotten yourself a bargain.   ~~   As long as it';s sturdy and the levelling disks rotate like slippery eels it should be a-ok.

All being well I should get this tomorrow and will report back

Got the balancer today and set it up.

The only mod I did was to lathe the knurls off

nate80

That was quick delivery!  Looks JUST like the Du-bro one.      Does it rotate freely and smoothly?  Are you pleased with how it performs?
