Perfect day, nobody there ?

I went out to the local hill yesterday morning nice and early, about 9 . Took the combat wing and big floppy wing , but the rc didn';t even make it out of the car, though i felt a tad guilty.
Absolutely no one else here ? Slope soaring must be on the decline sadly and I think its a real shame, not sure why. There';s normally someone there with a glider, you don';t even have to walk to the top you can drive up !

I';d love to get up there with a nice 3metre moulded sloper; would fly all day on a single launch by the looks of it!!!!

I was in shock that no one was there 
I always have a chat with the usual guys I see soaring it, maybe conditions where a bit light for them, I';ve watched them flying in some crazy wind before now

I';ve earmarked a PPL for my 50th birthday, but keep veering towards Microlites and Paragliders, because they just seem a lot quicker and easier to get sorted and flying.

Paragliding / or paramotoring is ';the cheapest'; form of aviation about ! No licencing requirements either, it';s classed as a foot launched aircraft,,,,simples 
An easy course, get signed off for BHPA insurance to keep CAA happy and your away, feet of the ground.

A pal is doing PPL at the moment (light aircraft), hugely expensive though.

Flying paragliders takes 10 % skill and 90 % commitment, plus you see nice sites

Another cracking vid. Unfortunately there aren';t too many places where I can fly without a good hour or so drive into the Peak District.

However, I';m about 20 minutes away from Tollerton Airport, and I';ve seen the occasional micro parked up there. There was a club nearby, but I can';t seem to find any info on it anymore...
