It';s all a bit of a scam. And it';s unenforceable since non of it is covered by the ANO. Particularly feel sorry for the poor buggers in London who have paid to register their property when it';s in class A airspace anyway.

OK, let';s engage common sense (although we all know that there';s no need, whatsoever, to allow common sense to impact a project in any way!!).

1) To enable the public to request that their property/land be designated as a No Fly Zone.
1r) To what height, exactly?? I get all manner of aircraft over my house, including the local air ambulance. I';d wager that I';d have one HELL of a job stopping them from going over my back garden. Or front garden, for that matter.

2) To monitor and track all UAV/Drone/RPAS/UAS flights & share such information with the Public.
2r) How do you intend to do that? Aircraft can be tracked because they';ve got the requisite hardware to enable it. I enjoy watching FlightRadar24 every now and again. Imagine how full the screen would be if every single drone/uav was added. Mind you, fitting the transponders to a 10 quid Argos special would be interesting..
Also, where I fly my drone is up to me. I don';t want to share my flying activity with ';The Public.'; I want to share it with my friends only. Do I have human rights, still?

You';re getting delusions of grandeur here, mate!

I';m all for making the usage of drones (and all other RC aircraft) safer. I think that all drones over a certain size should be licenced, to a degree, or only operated by those with insurance, or whatever (unless on private land, natch). But this looks like someone who';s engage bravado before brain, here.

And the web-page itself is utter crap! It';s poorly set out, with a background image that is too distracting, and it looks like it hasn';t even been proof-read.

thats becoming an increasingly annoying subject for me too, 5mil+ for a fully equipped busy chopper and whenever you watch anything on tele showing their uses you cant help sitting there thinking "a well equipped top end multirotor could do all this crap for a fraction of the price"

plus you can nip the pub and not worry about spilling someones pint when you arrive.....

I think its a great idea, have just logged a drone incident with them now. Hit the televison with the Hubsan the other night. I think my living room may become an incedent hot spot on there data base.

Also requested my house becomes a no fly zone, that should keep that pesky police helicopter away.

Looks pretty believable to me. There';s one or two in this hobby who think they know more than the police/airline pilots/the CAA/anyone who uses the word ';drone'; because they can strap 2.4 video and a dragonlink to a piece of foam and send it in to the wide blue yonder*.

* For ';wide blue yonder'; read ';some of the busiest airspace on the planet';.

As always in such things and it irritates the hell out of me too.

However there';s only 2 spectator areas at that show and it';s always incredibly packed with people (also we only have 2 air shows each year so everybody turn up at it)

Though I do know a couple of the guys posting on that thread (and only one if them is the only fixed wing things should be allowed to fly)

That airshow still has some displays flying close in to the crowd (the autogyro and Irish coastguard are only a couple of hundred metres out)

Although the chances of something happening with an aircraft are incredibly slim a person getting hit is much more likely (and bad publicity for us.)

/Mutters I ended up with a scarred arm due to a numpties with a Phantom (actually it was one year today) and the idiot that did it was in the process of heading to the airshow

"Now hears a funny story but true,A guy at the portrush airshow today decided to fly his dji phantom at the airshow during the display which i might add could have stopped the airshow show,when bringing the quad back he managed to hit himself on the head which required medical intervention but to crown it all he was then arrested for it,i havent found out what the charge is yet.but will let you know when i do."
