The maplin one is a steal at that price. I have one as well.

My only complaint would be the stiffness of the buttons on the front outweighs the mass of the power supply, so you need to brace or hold it when using them.

Agreed, and getting the presets to save is a bit hit and miss. Otherwise and excellent bit of kit for the cash.

Yeah the maplins jobbie is good when on offer.  Does the job and does it well with decent solder..  If you';re flush then a weller or metcal are nice KERCHING!!

I don';t know if the Iron is any good, but I am definitely going to start a business offering translation services for Chinese companies :D

ive got the maplin one a few posts above the 60watt which i love now , but that is once i got a tip set from china  beofre that it was bloody useless the supplied tips are good for nothing ! on amazom you can get a set of hakko copys (very good quality) for 3quid http://www.amazon.com/TOOGOO-Solder-Soldering-Hakko-Station/dp/B00H8KWMG0/ref=sr_1_37?ie=UTF8&qid=1456475958&sr=8-37&keywords=hakko+soldering+tips  once you have these the iron comes in to its own
