Radio requirements for Pixhawk help needed

Hi all

I am thinking of going down the Pixhawk route for my flight controller but after watching a few YouTube videos I have one question.

I have seen the radio system required listed as iPPM and PPM sum . is this different to standard PPM.

My transmitter both do PPM but that';s all they say, will it work with the Pixhawk or is its PPM requirements different.

I use FlySky/Turnigy i6 & i10 transmitters.

Thanks for any help with this

Paul-H

Thanks for that

Glad I asked before spending money and then wondering why its not working.

Back to the drawing board then.

Anyone know of a flight controller that is comparable to the PIXHAWK but would work with a standard PPM Receiver like FlySky/Turnigy use

Thanks

Paul

If you state exactly what receiver you intend to use then I can tell you if it';s compatible.

As long as it has PPM or SBUS out it will be.
One circlip short of a quadcopter.
1 lobe short of an antenna.

Just to confirm what has been said above, the Turnigy/FlySky i6 & i10 Transmitters using either of their PPM output receivers iA6B & iA10 all happily talk to the Pixhawk over PPM

Anyone know why PPM-sum is mentioned in the documentation like its something different to normal PPM.  Or is all PPM really PPM-sum

I looked into that while replying, PPM, CPPM and PPM-sum seem interchageable.
It specifically talks about that on this page https://github.com/cleanflight/cleanflight/blob/master/docs/Rx.md

"PPM is sometimes known as PPM SUM or CPPM."

with that in mind and the amount of traffic through those pages and the fact I am using a FlySky ppm to a cleanflight board without issue I am about 98% sure, I just don';t have a pixhawk to do the last 2%.
