CC3D Vs Naze Pros and cons

When I built my 250 I jumped in on the CC3D primarily because that was what was recommended for the Nighthawk frame (At least in the places I';d been reading at the time).

However, since then, I have noticed that Naze far outweighs CC3D in popularity, at least in the 250 class.
How come the Naze is so much more popular than the CC3D?

I had loads of weird Oscillations i could never get rid of on the CC3D, and get a little fed up, so orderd a Naze from Phil, fitted it, stuck on baseflight, stock settings, flew perfect straight away, one issue with the CC3D imho, far to many clones, but it could have been down to me, who knows, but every Naze one i have set up have flown perfectly, for myself, its the Naze all the time, i know many like the CC3D, but Mine just never played ball.

Just flash CF on the CC3D works fine

i';ve tried both and to me these are the differences

cc3d:-
Really excellent automated step by step setup that doesn';t require constant internet searches to figure it out.
Lots of fancy setups to suit most folks such as autolevel/horizon/cruise control etc etc
The OPNGtune system to tune the quad is excellent /quick/and works.

but no buzzer output unless you use a lost model alarm and you have to do alot of messing around to get it to work
no voltage sensing
no "motor page" in the software which in my opinion is essential for balancing motors and props.
I can';t get bluetooth to work

Nase32

flies well on stock settings
Has voltage /telemetry/buzzer functions built in which are all excellent and usefull stuff
MWosd is compatible and its prob the best  OSD out their
Bluetooth works

Can be difficult to set up and information on "how to" is all over the internet, some good some not so.
autotune is not much use
To many gimmicks and updates in the sofware , especially cleanflight , i';d stick to baseflight.
GPS hold doesn';t work ( I know the cc3d can';t do this , but their not selling the capability to do it either)

Got to disagree here.

CF was a piece of P*&^ to setup with only a couple of changes from default settings.

gimmicks ?

Yes the SW is rapidly updating but there are shed loads of improvements coming in. But you don';t need to update if you don';t want to.

Baseflight is spot on, and not bloated with stuff the majority do not need.

It was just my opinion, but in my defence if you don';t update your board the chrome app doesn';t always work  ( especially bad in cleanflight) , its linked to google so the chrome app automatically updates ...and heres the rub , taking your settings over to the new software / firmware is APITA .

Have you tried setting it up with GPS + spec sat+ osd + oneshot ...its not a 5 min job unless you have done it before.

LED lights to use as indicators/brakes /ufo landing craft = gimick numero uno , if they spent the time fixing the GPS instead i';d be a happy chappy.

atomiclama

Taking settings over to new SW version.

Do a dump via the CLI keep a track of what you have changed then just set those settings after an update.

Ah yeah that led thing is just bloat.

Still don';t understand why people want to use GPS with this. I would have thought one of the bigger FC would be the first choice. Pixhawk ?

Not sure if you';ve tried cc3d openpilot software , but to move or save settings its a one click export /import job.

You can import or export just parts of your setup as well . The tuning software is a good example , you type in the p values for pitch and roll that cause the craft to just start to oscillate and it works out all the PID values based on your flying style and spits out a set-up file that updates just your PID values , its pretty darn good.
