I';ve just ordered these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261970746867?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT  it will allow me to use up to 12" props, but what motors would you suggest I use ??, I';m currently running NTM 28-26 1200Kv but I';m thinking these are totally wrong ?? even for the 10x4 props on a 3S ??

guest325

Your existing motors are too high Kv, I would probably go no bigger than 9x4 with them, for 12" props I wouldn';t expect to be using motors with no higher than 800Kv possibly more like 650Kv depending on pitch. You should also look at bigger diameter to give better torque.
I can';t be specific about what motors to go for but something like this http://www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbyking/store/__45744__Turnigy_Multistar_4822_690Kv_22Pole_Multi_Rotor_Outrunner_UK_Warehouse_.html
is a good starting point.

Not sure how that motor would sit on the arms? think it';s a bit too big diameter? the mount is 40mm dia

I was looking at either the multistar 2216 800Kv or the 2814 700Kv

guest325

If it';s not too heavy (around 2kg) you would probably be ok with the lower kv ones, the bigger diameter motors would have much more torque so lift more weight - it';s not uncommon to see motors overhanging the mount, but it does make them more prone to damage.

Nige8021

It';s about 2.4Kg with the gimbal & camera less battery/s

I';ve just seen the Multistar 3508 640Kv just need to find it at a decent price  ;)

Been doing a bit more searching, any opinions on the sunysky? 3508 700Kv (Bangood) they have them in the UK warehouse:)

Another bit of an idea I';ve been thinking of :hmm: Would angling the motor extensions upwards by say 10deg increase the stability :hmm:

I have the Sunnysky 3508 920kv motors on order for my 500 Whitesheep frame.  According to ecalc they should be very quick.
