First build log, so hopefully it lives up to expectations.
Thanks to Phil for getting this one over to me, so here is how it went together.

Bits and Bobs:

RE 280 Racing Hex frame
Naze32
DYS BL20a ESC
DYS 1806 2300kv motors (4 black 2 gold)
D4R-ii
Afro 36mm PDB
2x micro stepdown voltage converter
Eachine 600tvl CCD camera
Eachine 200mw vtx

A couple of photos of the quality of the finish to the CF frame, its really stiff, the arms are rock solid, and the finish is really nice to the touch

So I forgot to take photos of the start, but I began by wet sanding and superglueing all the edges of the frame.
You can see the nice shiney edge with one of the motors here

So I put the arms on, and the motors (gold motors at the front for even easier orientation), then used electrical tape to measure out where the ESCs and the PDB would fit, so I can start cutting the wires to the right length

On the afro board, I could fit two of my voltage regs, one I set to 5v for the naze, the other at the moment I';ve left unset, it may go for powering the camera, or just for LEDs if/when I decide to add those in later. You can see the clearance with 6mm standoffs above the pdb

All the ESCs ready to solder to motor wires, and on to PDB

All soldering done, ESC > PDB, Naze power, vbat wire, motors > ESCs

Because the naze can';t be powered from the ESC, I';ve had to split the wire for the ESC1, so I spliced the GND from ESC1 into the GND of ESC2 to avoid any interference. Scratched the motor number for each of the ESCs onto their plugs, to know which pin to plug in.
Heres what it looks like with the top bottom plate on, ready for the naze to be added

And now with the naze on, sexy red naze, and then with a stacking plate and the receiver servo under the plate to avoid tangles

With the top plate on, and receiver temporarily foam taped to the top for test flights

I managed to fry that beautiful red naze thanks to reversing the vbat wires, so waited a bit to make an extension to fit it to my board with vertical wires from my quad. It is up and running as a LOS right now, had a few hovers in the garden with DAL props, testing the throttle response, its such a stable flight, and really responsive, expecting more with better props when i';ve got a bit more space. Only on 3S at the moment, will be moving onto 4S for giggles to see what Jab was getting all excited about at Weston

That';s all for now folks, more to come soon

Yellow

So an update on this frame, I';m absolutely loving it still, and so happy I set it up to be able to take 3 or 4s depending on my mood.

It was like a rocket ship anyway on 3s, 4 is just amazing.

So I';ve upgraded and added a few bits now, the motors are now T-Motor 2204 2300kv, so smooth!
The FPV is now in (the Eachine CCD ET200mw combi pack, powered straight from the pdb not balance port.
Those free HQ bullnose props are on and looking good, hopefully these new motors can prove their worth with these badboys

I';ll be taking the dome heads off and replace with nyloc nuts when i get hold of some more.

Moffmo

Looks awesome! I need to get myself some nyloc nuts too.  I have the exact same motors as you but haven';t had chance to use them yet!
