Hi bulesz and welcome to the forum back in the early days of megapirate we used to use the 5 pin sonars and they were preffered over the 4 pin versions, so unless the sonar code changed the 5 pin version should work just fine, as jumpy07 said just dont use the out pin  ~~
As for autoland with out a gps fix Im not sure that would work but it wouldnt hurt to try it  ~~

Thank you for your kind reply!

I have ment is that possible to set two options for the failsafe?

like with an "if...else" relation... ?

FALISAFE: if GPS locked = RTH + AL
else
AL

?

I hope there will be GPS lock in the 99,9% of the time, but just in case or when "flying" (hovering) indoor.

Many thanks,
B

Gaza07

You will probably get a gps lock indoors but it might not be to accurate and could head for the nearest wall   :beer2:

yup, I should set the planner to waypoint 1 - wall 1, waypoint 2 - wall 2....:D

Gaza07

Yea now why didn';t I think of that  I can see your going to fit in here very well  ~~

Thanks, I try to do my best...;)

my current homework:

- soldering the sonar
- put everything to the final place on the frame (this will be my fav (pron: easiest :) ) part I feel it... :D)
- balance the props (I have triblades to make it "simple" ;) )
- meet the PIDs (I';m scared)
- setup the loiter
- setup the RTH
- setup the failsafe

Fortunately my FPV stuffz are still on the snailexpress, unless my life would be complicated... :D

Just connected the SR-05 sonar, but dunno what to select in the list in Mission Planner (XL-EZ0, LV-EZ0, XL-EZL0 or HRLV)?

And how could I test be sure that the sonar is working fine?

Many thanks,
B

EDIT: another question: how can I recalibrate the gyro? in the Mission Planner the horizon is skew... :(
Thanks guys!
I have found it! For recalibrating the gyro just hold the rudder/throttle at lower left for 15-20 sec!

Gaza07

You can select any of them because the selection does nothing there is a default one written in to megapirate, go into the cli and type test then type help it will, list the available tests you can run  ~~

Thanks Mate!

I have made a quick test before bedtime, but no success... :( It said 0cm.... :(

Tomorrow I will triple recheck the wires...

Thanks again!
B

bulesz

I have connected the power wires of the sonar to the BEC / RX for more reliable 5V and it is working now!!

I have tested and it has "felt" my legs...I hope it is not a ultra-"smell" sensor... :D

Droidling

Under the picture of the Sonar it says

HC-SR04 Pin Trig <-> AIO PRO Pin 9 TRIGGER
HC-SR04 Pin Echo <-> AIO PRO Pin 10 ECHO

Under motor connections it says

  • 9 – Echo for Ultrasonic
  • 10 –Trigger for Ultrasonic

Which one is right?

Gaza07

Well spotted  ~~ the picture is the correct way you can double check this by looking on the bottom of the board the pins are marked with a E and T
If you cant see the bottom of your board there is a picture in the manual you can check  ~~

Hi again Craig,
Pete here.
Just an update on getting the V2 working properly due to the power issues that many have reported and I have tested extensively.
It is an issue with the M120 schottky diode.
I have found that it is best to just bridge it or remove it and put a link in.

I have also included the GPS config for the CN-06 V2 module which sets it to 38400, removes all the messages crap that we don';t need, sets it to pedestrian mode for better accuracy and 10Hz (not mine I found it!)

Hi,

I wanted to thank you for this trick.
i have ha the problem and solved it by strapping the diode.

I have made a small video to show the process.

thank you very much Ausi1972 ;)

flyingizm0

Hello Pete,

I just uploaded your config.txt from this post and now the V2 CN-06 V2 doesn';t response in the ucenter. Is there a trick or should it be this way? Everything was working before with 9600 bd

Thanks.

maybe someone is online right now...

I am trying to get megapirate running on a AIO V2 and everthing looks ok except: when I put throttla back complete the motors continue to spin and then stop after 2-3 seconds :-(

maybe someone is online and has an idea?

I am on the field and testing now...

flyingizm0

I have the latest 2.9.1 on the AIO but the same happened with 2.8

I just found this!!!!!

///PAKU
// motors off delay for STAB mode x/50sec ... give max about 100 = 2 sec
#define STAB_THR_OFF_DELAY 75

trying to change it to 0 !!!!! f**k

:-)

Does the delay worry you does it affect the flying ? maybe just settle for setting it lowere about 10  ~~

flyingizm0

the throttle during this delay is too high!!! I have to strong motors so the quad is still ascending :-)

flyingizm0

now its finished :-)

here is an album with some pictures. http://goo.gl/k7u6F

This motor-stop-delay is really strange and irritating.

Some data about the quad:
Carbon Arducopter (MegapirateNG) with Crius AIO V2 (megapirate 2.9.1)
- UBLOX CN06-V2 GPS Module
- Bluetooth for Telemetry
- 9x5 Carbon Props
- Sonar for Altitude Hold with 3Dprinted housing
- 3gramm Spektrum 6Channel DSM2/x receiver
- 1300KV 250W Motor
- 25A SimonK ESC
- 36cm Motor to Motor
- Total weight without Lipo: 570g

It took me some time to put everything together but today I tested altitude hold and loiter and it was nailed to the sky.

Hovering 20min with a 3S2200 35C Lipo.

Just following this guide, trying to get my GPS (UBLOX) working, however I think I';ll need to wait for my FTDI Adapter to arrive so I can upload the config file and set the baud rate first!

One point, when compiling in Arduino, it tells me that the default file extension has changed from .PDE to ..INO

You may want to add this to the list when updating the guide....
