Hi
On a naze 32 full or a multi wii pro for example or any of the other small flight controllers. If you have a quad, hex etc, do you need 4 channels for a quad and 6 channels for a hex, 8 channels for an oct etc,  or does the flight controller do the mixing.
I am asking because I am setting up a hex with the naze32, but have still access in the mode tab of clean flight to aux 1,2,3,4, If i use them for flight modes etc, will it affect the motor channels. If the naze is not suitable? I could use a Multi wii pro that I have.
The model is the Blackout style 370mm Hex with a Spektrum Satellite rx
I hope I have explained the question ok
Thanks
Pete

Your radio channels have nothing to do with the number of motors on your multirotor.  You need four channels to control throttle, yaw, pitch and roll.  The flight controller takes care of "mixing" these four control channels and sending the signals to the ESCs which control the motors.  How many motors you can have depends on the flight controller, not your radio equipment.  The Naze supports six motors without fiddling and more if you re-purpose other pins on the FC.

As long as you have at least five channels you';re good to go (you want one for flight more switching). ~~
