I have started using the dsmx Lemon rull range RX';s with my DX8. Havent really range tested but get really good reviews.

I';m using a SpekSat in DSMX mode, though it';ll work fine with DSM2 also. You just bind it in DSM2 instead of DSMX.

Hardware? sure, I got hardware!

I run both DSM2 and DSMX, DSM2 may have bad press, but never had any issues with it myself, i wouldnt buy DSM2 RX`s now, as DSMX Orange are available, but if already have them, then they get used :)

Was using DSMX up to last Saturday, saw too many DSM2 issues.

The Spektrum 6210 worked really well for me and an Orange DSMX ccpm thing that never failed me (but I never fully trusted)

I use Lemon rx dsm2 rx';s with my DX7 - never had any issues with dsm2 I think mainly because I don';t fly with any more than  2 more in the air. I also use Hitec which apart from no model match is rock solid  and my Turnigy I6 which again is rock solid!
Lemon rx are well worth a try!

In the process of moving to FrSky at the moment, though  still in buddy box mode for my plank so I may have to get a DSM module for the Tarnaris before I can sell the DX7s.

I got a few original Spektrum receivers cheap when our club chairman closed his model shop.

I have hear nothing but good reports about the lemon RX but I fly a lot in club environments so I preferred to avoid DSM2
