GLB gimbal issues

My son has bought and installed a gimbal (eBay GLB hobby) onto his phantom 1.1.1, we bought two in error but both items we have installed don';t seem to be setup correctly, they either don';t sit level/in the correct position on keep "kicking" to one side. I cant connect to it via BGC software as it say firmware incompatable and when i click the onboard button to recalibrate it doesnt rectify the problem. Any ideas ?

looks like the sensor is on upside down or the pitch motor is reversed
Many Thanks

I did think that but both are like it.

Do you know anywhere i could send this to be setup / diagnosed  ?

philtrum

before you do anything its worth trying to flip the sensor over on the bottom of the gimbal
Many Thanks

What version of BGC software are you running?  It';s probably a clone board, which will not be usable with fware above 2.2b2 http://www.basecamelectronics.com/downloads/8bit/
If you can get this to load, then setup is pretty easy if your gimbal/camera is balanced.

Here';s a great resource: http://www.itsqv.com/QVW/index.php?title=How_To_-_Martinez_Brushless_Gimbal_Controller_Set-Up

And my own musings on theses things can be looked at here: http://ajwillis303.wix.com/stuff#!brushless-gimbal-build/c1v9c

Been a while since I locked horns with these things, as I am now using a Zenmuse gimbal (which is very nice!).

Hope you get it all working, and let us know how you get on.

Andy

P.S THe clone boards can be a little iffy quality wise, I have one which used to connect to the GUI/PC, but now refuses, so although it works (sort of) I cannot alter any of the parameters, so cannot calibrate or trim it.

Hardware? sure, I got hardware!

If it';s anything like my 2-axis eBay special, which looks pretty similar, it might just want calibrating. On mine you simply power it up or press the reset button, then while the LED is flashing you hold it in the position you want it until it stops flashing and it should stay there.
