Going to be uilding up a Tarot X6,
What are your recommended ESC/Motor combinations and why ?

Cheers

secretman

a 6 cell setup for shure what you want to do with it ? and cheap setup or good brand ?

Airwave45

Would like to carry a DSLR camera.
Have no suitable batteries so completely open on 4 or 6s

price or quality ? not sure the two are mutually exclusive in hobby electrics, have certainly had some expensive rubbish in my time  :cry

AlanN

I can';t recommend as I have nothing to compare against but my "research" firmly pointed me at 6S to carrya Gimbal and  Sony A6000

I used these
Tarot 5008/340KV motors TL96020
Tarot 15" folding propellors TL100D01 TL100D02 TL100B16
Hobbywing XRotor 40A ESC';s

Are these better or worse than others in the same range... I don';t know
Do they work, yes they do
The ESC';s keep cool and fit nicely under the motor on the X6 mount, they required no programming and calibration was simple.
The motors have very short wires and I needed to make right angle connections to the bullets on the ESC

I referred to this to help with my motor choice

T motor u5 400kv motors and 15" props on a 6s setup, as for esc I would couple them with T motor 40amp

that above will be pretty expensive though as motors are £76 for 1 and props are £55ish and not sure on esc im trying to find some now
Check out RCmungo - new site just getting ready to be launched for all your RC needs
Bit like ebay but for RC

On big setup, i use mainly ZTW and Sunrise Opto ESC (30A is enough)

Priced this up, as I';ve been having similar thoughts and my quad (currently running iPower 880KV, 10", 4S) is not quite keeping up with what I want to hang off it, and you';re not kidding. With a Tattu 16Ah 6S battery, X6 frame, T-Motor 45A 600Hz ESCs, T-Motor U5 motors and 16" T-Motor CF props it comes to about £1250. Control electronics I';d just transfer from the quad. Dithering a bit over batteries - is 3S in series a more sensible prospect, or more hassle than it';s worth?

All of the above said it should be a much chunkier and more capable vehicle than, say, a DJI S900, which would be in the same price bracket.

We tested an x6 with 6s batts this weekend fitted with Emax 3515 motors and to be honest it was a tad overpowered and not as nice as the previous 4s setup !!! Please bear in mind though payload is only a gopro on a zenmuse so AUW is only about 3.75 kg.... Never thought i would here myself say somethin was overpowered LOL !!!

life is too short to worry about what others think !!!

tarot motor are ok  and 6s or for expensive  and better go t motor , and do 15';'; setup a dslr you need over power....  in case, and an ok setup is not working , take a big drop with the dslr and try to stop it  ..... you need power..

Thanks very much for the replies so far.
Plenty for me to think about, appreciate the effort.
