Spinking 250 quad design frame build FINISHED (files to make your own added)

ok since getting into 250 FPV racing quads i desided to build my own frame the plan is to get it made from carbon fibre so far i have designed it and had a prototype made from plastic

at the bottom is a zip file with all dxf files to make you own spinking 250 fpv mini quad ( only thing i ask is if you make print or anything you post pictures for me to see please enjoy)

so my design motors are 250mm circle (2nd pic)






so my prototype made from acrilic LOL (but its just a proto to test fit and it all fits so gunna fly it this week

ok so put it together this morning weathers not good but hovered in room im very very happy







so thats it all built for testing so going forwards with carbon fibre once i sort that ill update

so weather was good bit windy but ok so i suck at LOS flips but i tryed crashed and for a proto made from acrylic only thing that broke was a nylon landing gear rest is perfect see video

ok quick update got meterial its now with the  CNC engineer  (smeagol)  hopefully getting cut this weekend both sheets are as follows

300x200x2mm
170x125x3mm

meterial cost with shipping to  CNC engineer  (smeagol)  £47







so got an email from smeagol he has done a great job



ok so frame came today thanks to smeagol im very very happy i have dry fitted it all together ready for tomorrow to put all electronics in it and everything will fit perfect







tomorrow ill put all electronics in but waiting for fpv antenna extention cable to arrive then more pictures and videos of final product im so happy can not wait to fly it

ok so it finished just how i wanted it















later today if weather gets better ill be fpv maiden n it lol

i am very happy with it and if it flys as well as is looks i think it will be awesome

ok so here is the maiden i recorded it other day but weathers been crappy and i have been messing with a nitro buggy i got from a m8 it needed fixing and tuning works perfect now

Nice idea, like the look of it.  Pity you couldn';t have got your hands on some polycarbonate, it';s very tough.
Being picky the only thing I might have done is to remove the three bigger holes on the section of the arm that joins the plates and spread the mounting holss further apart. That said using nylon nuts and bolts should help to protect the arms.
Good luck with the test flight,  be interested to see how you get on.

Nice one mate. DIY builds are the best - especially if it';s your own design. - Will you adapt it for fpv gear too? cam mounting holes and antenna 6mm hole for deck mount connector, for example?

all the fpv and camera antenna everything is allready design just where i got it cut was 3mm cuts minimum and i need 2 but its designed for all that just waiting on CF cut quote which will have all the 2mm holes ect needed 

i need it for fpv as thats how i fly you will see once i get carbon fibre one cut

just a quick update so to get my frame materiel (carbon fibre glass mix) and cutting and all nylon parts plus shipping to me is looking around £85 as its a one off

so i am getting one made in a week or 2 i will not be selling these frames but if anyone does like the frame i am going to upload the files so you can 3d print them or get one cut out of any meterial you want to
